Anybody think he's gona do it at worlds this year, jst watched him deadlifting at the arnold. Pound for pound he must be the strongest bloke on the planet, he's only 330 compared to blokes like brian shaw who are 440 and he can pretty much match them in strength
Be cool see him win it, but the standard now is insane. So many guys in contention especially when the bigger guys are as athletic as they are.
anything is possible but personally i belive he had his chance in 08 pound for pound he maybe be one of the strongest but tht counts for s**t in the WSM no doubt he is one of the top strength guys but personally i think tht there are a number of athletes in front of him

As much as I would like to see him win WSM I don't think he will. I agree that pound for pound he is probably one of the strongest guys around but there are so many monsters around now and he hardly ever seems to be able to repeat his other performances at the world's. He looked to me like he was struggling last year. But this is strongman, anything can happen.
He did just come 2nd at the Arnolds
Imo that is his best chance of a big title
However, some non height based events at the worlds and he would be there or there abouts

If it was axle, yoke, farmers, DL, stones + a medley, none of which are height based, bar maybe stones, and he'd still be nowhere near imo

I'm not saying he'd win it, but think about it, all those events he's top 5 in the world, and if fit, very consistent, so he would finish very high

I can't think of a set of wsm events, were the guys I listed wouldn't finish above him. He is pudz.....but not as good

He just did finish above most of them at the Arnolds, granted weird events
I think he has come in with injuries to wsm in recent years too
Again, not saying he'd win, but I could see him being top 3, with the super tight way things are

obviously not because he didnt lol
in 08 p-cake was in tip top shape pudz was past his best IMO and p-cake still didnt win
having said that i do think on his day he cud still podium like you say with how close it is nowadays the final placings dont always tell the story as to how close it was in todays comps half a second cud be the difference between top and bottom

imo wsm now is very different from 08, much heavier, and poundstone SHOULD have won in 08
