terry won official englands strongets man

Indeed, that is the one I was on about

terry didn't do Englands - UKs so that comp wasn't taken into consideration

I think 90% of guys would say Terry is the stand out strongman in this country at the mo'

see the confusion, maybe a organization might be a good idea or just a ranking system.

In England (and therefore Britain as the other nations are not comopetitive with our top boys) its Terry, as he won Englands last year

Did all the top guys actually compete at that? I ask as there was no BSM right? You've had to make a subjective opnion to come to Terry being the best (I agree)

Dean Bowring won IPF worlds last year, as Bolton didn't compete much etc then the best SHW is Dean Bowring. Easy.

A central fed will be great for SM. I carn't see whyy you wouldn't want to consilidate the sport in a well run fed?

Thats more my issue than the actual fed itself. Having a fed and it being well run are too completely different things

Just my opinion that its going fine at the mo, so why change it

Is it???

From an outsider's perspective, there seem to be too many chiefs with big egos and their own agendas relating to equipment, personal kit, technique, depth, jerking etc etc.

Be nice to see everyone singing off the same hymn sheet.

hows BSM doing at the moment though?

some guy owns the "rights" for it, and is not getting paid enough, so the comp is not arranged - TRAVESTY!

We have UKs, so dont see the big issue

He has no 'rights'. This is not true IMO. TWI hold the rights to trademark 'Britaisn Strongest Man', I have just checked, so you cannot use that name without their permission, that is all.

Considering you whinge and criticize at virtually everything anyone says or suggests relating to strongman, I beg to differ!

You could always invite Colin Bryce to be on the governing panel of the said FED.

This is not new to me, people on her it maybe, but this has been an issue ever since I started competing. Without people, or persons taking the steps to make this happen there is no point in talking about it!!!

We don't need anymore suggestion to what we could do as a community. A FED would be a good idea to standardise things and promote the sport, but someones needs to something about it... any offers, I certainly haven't the time!!

From a outsiders, who then went in and has now popped out for a bit, i agree with Austin, though his statement has alot less swearing than mine.

We definatly need one to move the sport forward and be more accessible to the general public e.g more tv coverage and advertising would inspire people to try to be the next Terry Hollands etc.
Needs to be run by people who's run a major contest and have competed themselves, e.g Colin Bryce or Glenn Ross
