Research from the Payments Council - the Way We Pay 2010 - finds Britain has become a "nation of party animals". Britons blow £75billion a year on having fun - more than double the amount spent 10 years ago. Almost a fifth of the UK's total spend (18%) is on "fun" - more than £30 a week for every adult. Restaurant spending is up more than threefold to £30billion - and pub and wine bar spending has risen to £23billion from less than £10billion 10 years ago, despite the smoking ban.

They probably are. This is back in the day when £23 billion was considered a lot of money. City centres are still doing ok, although not 10 years ago standard. Satelite towns nights out are dying a death from my experience.

My opinions have run their course Member 694, 3112 posts | I like eating out but it's awkward with a young child as you can't really relax as much! Don't go out drinking/nightclubbing much maybe once every 6 weeks. Never get drunk as I don't really enjoy it, just get buzzing off a few red bulls and I'm good to go throwing shapes on the dancefloor. Like a good sunday carvery too!

I hear you mate. A 4 year old bombing about and a 18month old whineing 'cause your food is taking half hour is not relaxing at all LOL

My opinions have run their course Member 694, 3112 posts | my daughter is 2 and a half and is not as bad as some kids, but she is a kid at the end of the day! if we take a few toys for her to play with she is usually fine, but like me when she is hungry she wants her food lol. the good thing is she likes her food and we dont have to fight with her to get her to eat.

Eat.Cycle.Sleep.Win Member 2, 12511 posts SQ 190, BP 150, DL 280620.0 kgs @ 99kgs UnEq Administrator | There are plenty of restaurants in London (at the top end obviously) that wont allow children in so as not to spoil te experience for others. I can see it must be hard going out for dinner with the kids in tow.
