I’ve had mixed summer berries in my porridge. Melon, blueberries, strawberries and grapes at lunch. Orange/grapefruit juice, and then onions and red peppers in the enchiladas I had this evening.

Not bad!!!

Had to google what the English for them was:
European Blueberry

Figs

One-pot containing
Okra
Runner beans
Onion
Tomatoes

Jerusalem artichokes (with egg)

I haven't spent a f**king penny on food today (yet). All home-grown in our own sheeps' s**t!

Sweetcorn is growing nicely, reckon they should be ready in 1-2 weeks tops. Got about 30 plants, so should have about 60 odd sweetcorn(s?)

Broad beans have started breaking out of the ground, planted 40 of them.

Maybe 2 months until oyster mushrooms start to pop up, and will go out mushroom picking instead of fishing.

Breakfast was 4 big slices of bread with olives, spinach, and halloumi in it.

Lunch was spinach with minced chicken

4-5 o'clock I had the same

Bunch of figs I picked off the tree when I got bored, maybe 10-15 of them.

I like your food life.

Tonight I had a chef friend and his wife over (their kitchen's being ripped out). Request was fishfinger sandwiches.

Fishfinger sandwiches on "sourdough" Warburton's. Fries.
Jam gyoza (bought frozen) and ice-cream.
Nata and espresso.
I'm totes sophist.

Tomatoes and cucumber at 7am as an impromptu breakfast
Orange with brunch at 11ish
Orange and banana with dinner around 5ish
Might well have some fruit/veg later. Wonder if there's any broad beans kicking about in the garden.
My prickly pear got butchered last month with a weed whacker - probably knocked it back a year Unhappy

Does turning a 7kg watermelon into wine count as fruit? I don't even like wine. I've ruined a perfectly good watermelon.

Watermelon - approximately 13p a kilo. Bottled water - approximately 26p a litre. It is cheaper to buy a watermelon that's 92% water, plus you get sugars and vitamins. A 15kg watermelon lasts me about 3 days, or 9 sittings. I sometimes have watermelon and halloumi as a meal.

One of my friends makes a salad of watermelon, feta, and rare steak. It's very good.

Yesterday I had mushrooms and hash browns with meal one and a large salad of spinach, pea shoots, and various other stuff with meal two. Probably some celery at some point.

Watermelon and feta is perfectly doable. I think I had steak last year in Cyprus. Even then, it hadn't been aged at ALL (to these guys, 48 hours is aged, and 72 hours is the UK equivalent of a 35-42 day age). 24 hours is the regular ageing time, and it's always served dry as fook and tough as old leather boots. It's probably more of a luxury over here than lobster is in UK. I miss GOOD steak now.
