I have this posture problem where one shoulder sits higher than the other, and my head has a higher propensity to tilt to the side with the high shoulder.

I have decided that i want to do some strict press, however if I do just a few sets and then look in the mirror, the problem is quite considerable exaggerated.

wot do

I used to have a similar problem (not the head tilting part but the higher shoulder part).

I went to a physio and they diagnosed an over activated trap with an under activated, I think, supraspinatus which meant the trap was almost always firing causing my should to lift.

If I’m honest, I can’t bloody remember what exercises they gave me, plus it might be something completely different you have anyway.

Ha!

I will have a look into what "supraspinatus" means. Thank you!

is the higher shoulder the side you tend to sleep on? my right trap & pec are constantly tight because of this- I have to massage/roll them daily to keep on top of it- it does work though. Also might find the lat on the higher side is tight too.

I always migrate on to the same side when I sleep, regardless of what I try.....

Mine has been like this for a while, since I’ve done some McGill protocols for the back/core they’ve been a lot better

Both of my shoulders have been gradually doing this. Consisered carrying a rucksack full of rocks to pull them back down.

My whole body is wonky, shoulders included. I can particularly feel the wonkiness when I walk. I believe that the wonkiness limited my ability as a dead lifter. I think these things are very difficult to correct.

Perhaps there is a certain flavor of crisp that has a higher propensity to nourish the muscles on the weak side.

Doing something to try and rectify it isn't difficult for a short term result - stretch what's tight, strengthen what's lengthened.

The bigger issue is why?

Either what you do in every day life or a problem further down. If you look.at what the people at AIM (anatomy in motion) say often it will be issues with the foot/ankle resulting in the body compensating further up - getting to the root cause is necessary for long term rectification

A human body is asymmetrical. It isnt nescessarily going to be better if you somehow become more symmetrical.
