I've been thinking of buying myself a Texas deadlift bar for training , it might sound daft cause it says it's a deadlift bar but would I beable too use t as an all round bar for squatting and bench pressing too? I've never had the chance too use one so I'm a bit naive about it TBH , any info on it would be great , cheers

hell no you'l be eating the bar if you bench with it and id stay away from explosive squats-(drop and pop) as it'll leave your back , solid deadlift pb bar mind tons of whip , stick to the texas power bar for allrounder

as the owner of a tpb I would say save for something better or save your money and just get a standard bar. for me, the only thing that elevates it above the latter is the quality of the knurling.

Oh i epically disagree. I think the power bar is just about the best all round bar available that isnt an Eleiko. Unlike cheap trash gym bars like Jordan it wont morph or turn to spaghetti when you get up over 220.

The deadlift bar is too whippy for everyday use, if the cash is there id get a Texas power bar. If you dont want to spend that much cash on a 'standard' bar then the Bison power bar by Wolverson is almost its equal for about £100 less.

I wouldn't go near a TPB these days. The new ones feel rubbish compared to the older ones

I just find it whippy to squat with and my numbers always seem to be off compared to other bars with deadlifting (they are lower on it). I would never do any oly lifts on it either.

This is what I have found with the new bars. I prefer my okie bar and once upon a time would have favoured TPB. The Rogue bars look to be best value atm.
