Savolainen87 said:This year many records will be done . I expext 4 repetitions on the 200 log by Z. If Savatinov is able to clean it more times he can make 2-3 for sure . Dumbell .. I might surpise someone but I believe Z will be prepared this year . Deadlift also Z or Shaw . Yoke is Z for shure . So I don't see many problems for the king Z to take the title back .

Solid predictions as it turned out. Was skeptical about 4 reps on the log, but Z... What a monster.

Awesome to see big Z has still got it!

4 reps on 200 log Eek

The man is incredible.

Looks like a close battle between him and Shaw.

Not even a second in it and a very touch and go rep to win too. Could have went either way. 300lb dumbbell for sure in future, awesome stuff.

I'd be well annoyed if I were Shaw and they're telling him he's done 5 because the host can't count! Even worse the ref asks him too rather than knowing himself how many Shaws done himself!
Congratulations to Big z, so consistent over the years, a true legend!

Looked like shaw did 4 good reps and 1 iffy rep right on the time limit to me

Fantastic! - Well done Z, Last in the alphabet 1st in strongmanHappy

Clearly the strongest but so close to losing it.

So the broader question - Could the Arnold points system be improved (to make sure the strongest always wins)? ... sounds like a new thread

I think there should be more than a 1 point gap between 1st and 2nd place, I think it would have been very hard on Z not to win the event overall having won the majority of events. - Had failed that final rep on the DB.

I really am amazed at the performances this year, records broken, the number of guys who repped that 200kg log was just phenomenal. I wish there would have been more time for the growing yoke, I was really curious to see how much weight Z and Shaw could shift.

Yeh but it was when he completed the 4th earlier on that the host went from 3 to 5, so that last rep at the end he thought was going to be his 6th.

100% agree. They need to take a look at the point system. It would have made no sense for Z not to have won with 3 wins,a tie for second place on the last event, and only 2 places behind Shaw on the timber.
