He gets away with being so tall on dead lift with long arms but squat is a different matter, his hips will be too far back with limb length to squat big.....but he has proven me wrong before

In theory yes, but he has massive legs to say the least, and (maybe terry can chime in here as was years back) from what i remember he say he thought he could do a triple with 400 if he had to.

Thanks Craig.

Will be disappointing if Z doesn't beat Shaw on the dumbell. It would obviously be technique rather than a power issue if he did. You never know though as this isn't the circus dumbell they are all used to using.

Any video of Shaw's deadlift? I'm surprised he didn't hit 1150. He's one helluva strongman too. I suspect he'll win a few more WSM's before he's done.

Genuinely in shock that Shaw lost the deadlift. Z is back to being a god to me...last two Arnolds he competed at made me think of him as human...his log and deadlift are ridiculous though.

Shaw still has more mong strength and deadlift is about equal and he has closed the pressing gap. But for this Arnold's Z is the star...dumbbell doesn't mean a fat lot in strongest.

Also Pritchett has a 430+ dead and 170x4 log ...won the timber carry. He is a great static strongman...still massively underrated. Just needs to sort his yoke and dumbbell.

Was hoping for better on deadlift from Oberst...he is still young but worry he wont ever catch up on the dead. Log is still the coolest event and he has the most potential on that.
