Here is another video of the dumbbell from a different angle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MXmRhWs0rw

I can see why the judge would have given the all good signal on both of their lifts in question.

In my view Brian's lift with his left arm was no more stable than Z's last. They both locked out but started to walk around right after the lock out. I think they both deserved to be credited with those lifts.

Take a look and see what you think.

The way they edited it looked like a big issue, but got to agree with you WSM final its way more important than a first place on a giant live

Haha, that's always been my opinion as it's when everyone is in top shape and at their best. Only time you get the real reflection on people's ability

I'd possibly go the other way and say neither should have, haha. If any doubt should be a no lift. Tbh I guess it doesn't matter, z won and was in awesome shape along with a few of the others.

I usually have little interest in the Arnold's but actually got quite excited about it this year and made me wish it was televised

I personally like the Arnold's 'cause of the heavy weights. At least that somewhat distinguishes it from WSM.

I'd love to see all these events televised. I think the popularity would take off if they would give it a chance. You never know though. I don't see the appeal of bodybuilding as a competitive sport, but lots of people like it.

Best of luck at WSM Terry.

Either way I guess. Outcome would have been the same. No question Z was the best in this competition just like Shaw was at WSM, but most guys have made huge improvements. 200kg log for reps? And just a few years ago the hummer tire was under 1000lbs.

Out of curiosity, are you guys all from the same planet Terry? Amazing!

Not many people came around him at the last year Arnold when he was not competing .He was presenting MHP . Also MHP always make noise around Shaw after winning , not the same with Z .
In an interview Dave Palumbo said Z looks like a farmer . Americans don't like him and some even don't know him .

Absolutely bang on. Palumbo hates strongmen who are not American, and who don't look like bodybuilders. There seems to be so much jealousy of Z it's unreal, a begrudging compliment here and there. If he was British or American and had a huge ego like the US and UK stringmen, then he'd likely have created more of a following. 25 years time he'll hopefully be seen as equivalent of Kaz in terms of defining his sport for a generation.

I agree completely. I think Odd did a great job judging. In both cases their feet were planted, and didn't step back until Odd's hand was already coming down. And traditionally Dumbbell judging is a little more lax than with a log or axle (but not as lax as say odd object press), just because of the nature of the implement. It's unfortunate for Brian that the announcer said the wrong reps - knowing he needed #5 to be alone in first on the event might have given him a little more for that last attempt. But, even if he had gotten 5 reps, they would have been tied on points and Z would have won the countback.

Dave palumbo probably thinks were all fat idiots as many people do.
Strongmen are just not as popular as the bb at the Arnold, that's not a reflection on mhp, Brian, z or anyone else involved. Someone commented saying how z doesn't post videos of training etc like it was a good thing, maybe reasons like that are partly why they put in more effort with Brian if they even do

I suppose Z would simply point to all of his immense victories, world records, and gentlemanly conduct as why he doesn't feel the need to whore himself out by posting endless videos.

I guess that's the difference between someone who has had financial backing and guys that do it cause they need to earn money and sponsors require it

yeah Z doesnt look like he struggles financialy, he owns a Big gym + Politics and also since he is from a small Country in which he is one of the most famouse athletes there he probably has some finance help from the government cause he is spreading the lithuanian name world wide ( and once agains pure speculation)
