Is this comp over 2 days cause if you get a lot of competitors turn up it's gonna take about 5 hours to bang out the first event with all the weight changes plus really to make this fair it should be bodyweight on all the other events too.

So this aimed at smaller body weight guys......?

Think that Bodyweight Log is a Bit silly tbh...a lighter guy could easily out rep a heavier guy here..very unfair...just make it light/heavy Option...or under over weight categories

It clearly says... lightest to heaviest. So there will only be weight added to the log.

There is no weight class here. It is a NOVICE comp.

Why is it unfair? They are lifting the same proportion of their bodyweight, for example even though davy cummings has nearly 20kg more bodyweight than me I'm sure he'd out rep me any day of the week on bw log as would plenty of others of a similar weight. A heavy guy can have weak shoulders and a light guy can have strong shoulders.

Also can you please put Keith Patons name down Larry.

Why all the negativity? Like most comps this is put on at the organisers time and expense and its all in aid of a good cause. They are going against the grain with a bodyweight event, good on them. I think its an interesting choice and at the end of the day there is nothing but pride at stake.

Ok ill explain..

Its a novice comp..u get a guy weighing 140+ ....Not manu novices that could Stift that Type if Weight..

Novice comps usually get logs ranging 80-100kg.thats why i think it Would be unfair for a novice big guy trying to shift that Type of weight...

Im fully away that smaller guys can have better oh than bigger guys that wasnt my point tho...

Its just an opinion...hope it goes well for you :-)

End of the day. If you don't like the events.....don't bloody do the show.

If you get a novice who weighs 140+ and cant do 1 rep at a bw log they probably should reconsider their approach to training/diet and loose some blubber

I think BW log is a brilliant idea. I havent done many comps, but the ones I have done have turned slightly comical when the 140+kg guys turn up to do a 90kg log.
Yes, they may be novices from an experience perspective, but they should be a lot stronger than a 90kg guy. If a 140kg guy cant overhead bodyweight, but can do 100kg, why should the 90kg guy be expected to lift 10kg MORE than bodyweight overhead just to save the ego of the bigger guys?
If I got 3 reps on a 100kg log at 90kg, and the 140kg guy got 4 reps on a 100kg, surely I would be by definition stronger than him? But he would get more points on that event.
BW log is great, keep it in.
