Well it's actually at 52 seconds in the clip, not sure where you are getting 58 from? Anyway massive congratulations to Ed, he deserves the win.

Martins Licis' progress on deadlift disturbs me. Essentially going from 411kgs pull at the beginning of March to 440kgs pull at the end of May.

I've seen the clip of him attempting the 460kgs (assuming the weight jumps provided are accurate) and he breaks it off the ground. Just nuts.

It's mind boggling how an elite lifter can make such quick, huge gains.

Quite apart from whether thor would have won or not with another rep. Surely bryce taking a perfectly good rep off thor, making it look like he's trying to help out his buddy ed hall (whether that is the case or not, that's how it appears), it makes strongman as a sport look like a joke and takes away whatever legitimacy it had.

Not taking anything away from ed though as he did far better than many expected and smashed that final.

His knees were maybe a touch 'soft', but I would have given Thor's last rep.

I have no doubt that Ed would have done 16 reps if required.
