| herman | What kind of bar is used in British Powerlifting for Deadlift? | 20-09-2012 @ 17:18 | |
hermit Member 3904, 988 posts | If I were to enter a comp, what kind of bar am I likely to encounter on the deadlift? Is there any consistency, or does it vary?

hermit Member 3904, 988 posts | So something 28mm and whippy? Light knurling or spiky like a texas deadlift bar?

Not sure of the size of it mm though. It is thin, very easy to hook grip.

some nice relaxing jazz. Member 77, 12599 posts SQ 265, BP 165, DL 280710.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | It'll be a standard comp spec powerlifting bar such as an eleiko or ivanko. Not one of those cheater deadlift specalist bars!

What your talking about here sounds like a Texas Deadlift Bar. https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/powerlifting/texas-deadlift-bars.htm... Extra long, extra thin, deep sharp knurling.

he's got betty davis eyes Member 1684, 6001 posts SQ 250, BP 186, DL 291727.0 kgs @ 118kgs UnEq | Its because they are talking about different federations. You have just said british powerlifting, you didn't specify GBPF, BDFPA, BPO etc. So you have gotten answers relating to various. Do you have in mind what comp you want to try? As this would help. There will be standardisation within feds, or should be, but not between them.

Why not just not get fat in the first place? Member 132, 1406 posts SQ 331, BP 200, DL 320851.0 kgs @ 98kgs UnEq | It will be either: A 7ft Power Bar (usually Eleiko or Ivanko) in GBPF and BDFPA or A 7 1/2 ft Deadlift Bar (usually Texas or Okie) in BPC and GPC In Strongman it's whatever the organiser has!
