Should this be Public holiday ? I think so, its the only British day we have left ! Every body celebrates Paddys day, but no-one celebrates St Georges day ! Its WRONG !  | ||

Member 1093, 5446 posts SQ 160, BP 105, DL 225490.0 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | I don't know a lot about St. George, but if I remember correctly, he wasn't English, never set foot in England and most likely seems to have been a Roman soldier of possibly Turkish origins who converted to Christianity. I'd like a bank holiday to celebrate a true English hero, but St. George has always struck me as a bit of an inappropriate choice. Hope I haven't offended any Roman soldiers of possibly Turkish origins who may have recently converted to Christianity and told a great big lie about killing a mythical creature. | ||
