Nobody would call it a bench pb though i hope, maybe a pb in a slingshot, but then some people use bench suits which are alot more awkward and extreme, just seems another way to overload triceps to me just like bands and chains are.

When I started, it was about the same as my 4-board press but now it is higher. Keep in mind I have long arms so my 4-board was still a long stroke.

Yeah, it doesn't compare to a regular Bench and it's not ideal, you know? Ideally I'd like to Bench as heavy as I can and for a decent amount of volume with no shoulder issues. But it's not an ideal situation, I'm old and beat up. So what am I gonna do, stop benching heavy 'cos i'm injury ridden and old? Nah, it allows me to press a heavy and often with no shoulder issues.

I think it's worth the money (strengthshop has cheaper alternatives by the way) and yeah very easy to use on your own.

Yeah if you throw egg shaped stones they go the furthest. Sometimes I'll throw golf balls or lead sinkers. Lead goes for f**kin' miles!

Hard to compare it to a board, the desired effect is the same (work the tricpes more etc.) but the feel is very different.

The comparison to a reverse band is a good one in my opinion.

Its Mark Bell's slingshot and has been out for nearly 2 years.

Doesn't give as much support as a bench shirt, allows you to overload by about 10% more on your raw bench, (depending how you arch, feet positioning etc. Will need a spotter though it is not(or is not meant) for training alone.

The slingshot hasn't really made as much of a difference to benching considering Monday is the National Bench press day (with bros and its all you bro).

If you have had shoulder injuries or are banged up the slingshot may be of some use. If you are a raw lifter, the slingshot is not really a must-have, there are traditional ways of overloading the bench/accessory exercises.

Read quite a few negative views on here - Is a slingshot something that could / would help my piss poor pressing, in addition to what Im already doing?

Yes.
I swear by mine.

Last few weeks I haven't done anything heavier than 122.5 but have been doing heavy reps with my slingshot. Two days ago I did an easy 140kg for 2. I put that down to doing a lot of heavier work with the SS.
