In reply to Rob:

My numbers are taken from my old books & spreadsheets that I kept for what feels like forever & area dated approx 1yr ago. Sadly I am awaiting a shoulder op and that is blocking me from any heavy lifting (that'll teach me to carry on lifting with a broken clavicle). However, once I get that sorted I anticipate joining in the fun. I haven't posted on the league as all my big numbers are a year out of date now and I'd feel a bit phoney posting them when I couldn't still do them.

Get them on the board Andy, if you've done them you've done them. I know I'd get crushed by 400lb squat at the minute, but it's still my PB.

Best of luck with the recovery, I've been there with shoulder op it's not nice, missed 6 months and had to start right back from the beginning.

Done - the posted numbers are slightly over my contest bests, but then my wife is in every training/gym session with me and she is an IPF2 ref (same as me) and I get absolutely zero favours Happy

How do I get rid of the Uneq flag as the numbers are all equipped?

I have the joys of being an "old git" now, so my dream of breaking 900 in contest is going to be a little harder now, but I'm reasonably happy with the numbers. I remember how far away 700 felt when I started & 800 seemed like cloud cuckoo land. However, at least with sites like this I can still be involved whilst I wait for & recover from the op. Its the one problem with this game, once it gets in your blood you never get rid of it, even when common sense tells you to hang up the wraps & belt. Powerlifter & common sense - I suppose that sort of answers my own question really!

wow andy, some fantastic numbers there, and hopefully once you are back in condition and healthy you can push them even further.

All this talk about bench shirts is just putting temptation in my path. Note to self-you can play with a bench when you get to 140Grin

For shirted, get in the shirt and learn it, train the boards, lockouts and close grip raw and you will be fine.

Exactly. Raw benching has little carry over for most people in the shirt.

Much better off working a range of boards.

I Bench with a close grip (dicky shoulders). When I was doing around 135kg I made a 190kg Bench shirted, fairly easy.

I train alone. Just stick the boards under your shirt.

Boards are much better than pin presses IMO.

I train alone a fair bit as well. It's not pretty and looks a little silly if the neighbours see me from the shed, but you can use an old luggage or velcro strap on the boards and attach them to your chest.

You can double bands up as well and just stand in the middle of them then bring them upto your chest. I usually bench with Boar spotting so this takes care of the boards.

Last year, I got 170kg in a single ply shirt when my raw max was only 130kg. So +40kg from a single ply. I guess it all depens on how strong is your triceps. If you have weak triceps you'll get only 20k from the shirt. If you have strong triceps, you can get a lot more. I know Craig Coombes for example was able to get as much as 70kg-80kg extra from a single ply bench shirt.

Yes, you can place the boards under the t-shirt. I works pretty well for me.
I normally do 3 board presses followed by rack lockouts.
