remember when benching to drive your feet forward and not down, this'll keep ur ass down and keep you scrunched up tight Happy.

Was it an ez bar you were ohping with?

Preloaded straight bar, but they're thinner than a real one. Probably mental mostly.

Tuesday; same run as last week, 11;19, no pauses, then Tabby squats, 12, 12, 11, 11, 10, 10, 10, 10. Alright.
Wednesday; climb. Feeling pathetic, so mostly messed about. Still fun.

Thursday;
squat 77.5x3, with belt, easy. Fixed up stance, slightly wider, but feet more forwards, makes it easier to keep knees out.
DL back to 5/3/1; 3 at 92.5, 97.5 max at 105 =4. Hips up, back rounding again. Prob just a bad day.
SUmo DL; 75x4 Tired, and trying to learn form. Should have gone much lighter.
Bridge+15kg 1.30, 1.05

Followed up with 30min swim then home to eat everything in sight.

Benching tomorrow; will try and figure out the leg drive. Thanks for advice.

Bunch of alright cleans, up to 45, 47.5 then 4 fails at 50, and a set of 3 at 40 to end. Prob due to yesterdays deads; was having the same hip lifting problem.
Bench 1x3 at 42.5, 1x8 at 35 (flat) Felt good, I could feel the line I wanted and managed to stay on it OK.

Played footy for an hour. Fell on my arse, but thanks to squat-butt almost bounced back onto feet Grin

Finished up with chins, 3,3, 1@+5kg, 2, 2, 1, fail. Never tried with weight before, so technically a PR.

Weekend painting stuff, knackering on the arms. Pint or two of beer on Sat and Sun.

Squat 70kg 8x3 These were good. Straightened my feet out, much easier to keep knees out. Bit of a groin twinge made later sets awkward, but all OK. No belt; no problems with back extension, but seems I get a rebound off it that makes it easier on my hips. Should keep some beltless stuff in.

Bench 40kg 4x5, 1x3 Read something about tucking your chin, tried that and set 4 flew up, and gave me awful hamstring cramps. Didn't rest enough, sure I could have got 5th set.
Feeling a bit sick through most of these. Too much coffee and biscuits.

Legs feel dead, so just my short run today, 12min 36. Proper headwind in places, the downhill bit was a struggle to keep moving, usually it's a struggle for legs to keep up with the rest.

Something weird in my calf, feels like the skin is ripping, except obviously it's not. Meh.

Running today must have sucked. Very humid and windy but props for getting out there. Hopefully the calf sorts itself out.

Strong looking stuff here. I am just getting my girlfriend into powerlifting (she's a sprinter at heart) and it turns out she has VERY similar numbers to you, at the same bodyweight. So I shall keep an interested eye on your progress Happy

Cool. I started lifting almost 3 years ago now, but my first comp. was last October. The year before that I was just ticking along, not getting weaker but not getting stronger. Competing was inspiration to try and get actually strong. By the way, the UK unequipped qualifying total for a 63 is 210; although I think thats a bit pathetic, it's a nice ego boost.

Climbing Weds again, lots of bouldering this time. V1 grades seem disproportionately hard compared to V0s, and all the Ibrox routes seem fingery.

Thursday; ghost of a hangover, lots of cake and biscuits, and not enough sleep last night. Found myself incredibly angry, and seems it helps;

Squat belted 80x5. PR
aim was 3, which is my best (shaky) previously. These flew up so fast I had to ask someone to check the weight.
85x2 PR Previous best was a single, and I couldn't even get another single 5mins later.

Wiegiebord is right, Beltless squats seem to be win. (Probably I have weak hips)

DL 85, 92.5, 100x5 (PR) Supposed to be 97.5 for top set but 100 looks cooler. Took long rests to stop feeling sick.

Then off to the pub for a few beers. Workouts like this make me feel great for days!!!

Bloody nice work on all of the PBs that's impressive squatting. You'll be well ready for a PB I'm betting!
I agree about the bouldering routes in the centre lately. They seem obscenely tricky as of late and everytime they change them, they keep seeming to get harder. I've been working on two runs down the stairs, a black one and a blue one and so far on each, I'm a ballhair from completing each. The finger strength just isn't high enough. nightmare.
