Hi mate, the Bournemouth YMCA is a cracking little gym, decent power rack, bench and enough bars and weights to keep you busy. Let me know if you need a number or anything.

I agree with this, but also I'd like a gym where there's much stronger lifters than me (unlike at the university gym), do big guys train at these places? Cheers

I havn't seen anyone squat over 140kg at St Marys gym! Off course that wasn't too depth. Need anymore help just PM me. I live in the city centre and actually my PhD will come from Southampton although I studied at Chichester. St Marys Rec centre is run by Solent Uni.

If you have a car or live close to station def worth chekcing out. At Area51 I think I've only seen 2 people squat 180 to PL depth at Area 51 and 1 person pull a 5 plate pull either. Not been since feb, and regulary since last summer, but apart from that trained there since its been open (moved from Kingsland gym). Maybe some stronger guys have started to train there St Marys Rec is a decent PL gym although random and were I train now. There is very few people that are even half impressive strength wise that I've seen but pretty decent bars (very good bars but 2 slightly bent) and squat rack is free most of the time
