Hi all,

Was just wondering if anyone knew where i could find Oly coaching in Sheffield. I was coached in the oly lifts for 4 months last year, and sadly had to leave my club due to relocating. From September i'll be at Sheffield uni and would love to get back into Oly lifting again if i could find a coach.

Alternatively, i'll perhaps start doing some power lifting, so the second question is, where is the best equipped gym in Sheffield for this.

Thanks a lot.

Hallam University Strength and Conditioning Centre runs a weekly olympic lifting coaching session. Wednesday evenings 7-9. 4 quid a session. Alternatively, join the gym there as a member and turn up for impromptu coaching sessions with the knowledgable staff. Rumour has it that 3 or 4 times a week, a particularly average powerlifter trains there too.Wink Have a look at their website, which includes a virtual tour.

Hi mate, I'm looking for a decent gym at Sheffield as I'll be going to Hallam. Already seen the strength & conditioning suite there and its pretty good but you have to be a member of sport/team Hallam to gain access or have a coach sign you off and the staff will let you use it.

I'd like a gym outside of it though.

Same here man, i'm looking for a coach for than anything though.

If you are looking for a solid gym in Sheffiled then pro bodybuilder Zack Khan has a well equipped gym and good atmosphere.

Called here last week to train only to find it closed, with a for sale sign outside! How come you've drawn a blank at Hallam Uni?

Sorry for the late reply. Oh and he's relocated mate, http://underground.nutrex.com/latestnews/Zack-Khan/zkk_undergr... still in Sheffield Happy

Haven't drawn a blank so to speak, and will try my best to get in there when i arrive at September, but if i could find a more permanent coach or a weightlifiting club i'd prefer that. But if not hallam looks great!
