I had a lecture on this about a week ago and just spotted it on this site. Basically, if you want to get bigger.... get your rubber bands out!http://www.ampedtraining.com/exercise-science/occlusion-ischem... Paul

Hey mate, my name is Paul Dudley Member 632, 3628 posts SQ 200, BP 155, DL 282.5637.5 kgs @ 77kgs UnEq | Iain, if you're interested in functional strength then yes, this is a pants 'phenomenon', however, if you're just after sarcoplasmic hypertrophy (bodybuilder) with no regard for how strong you are then this idea could be useful. Admittedly, this is pretty whacky, but the results (from a number of well respected studies) speak for themselves. I personally couldn't care less about "19" gunz" and the such, I just want to get stronger, more size is a byproduct. I am interested in training in general though and found the lecture I had on this to be pretty interesting shizzle, just sharing the wealth. Andy- Awesome picture. Paul

deadlift 300kg conventional ? never gonna happen Member 414, 1127 posts SQ 275, BP 187.5, DL 317.5780.0 kgs @ 115kgs Eq | Post Edited: 21.02.2010 @ 19:08 PM by Duncan I think I've heard of this also. There's a guy at the gym at home who is doing a Phd in strength and conditioning and it was suggested that by cutting off blood supply, GH production greatly increases IIRC.
