An interesting article on hypertrophy research.. I had a lecture on this about a week ago and just spotted it on this site. Basically, if you want to get bigger.... get your rubber bands out!

Iain, if you're interested in functional strength then yes, this is a pants 'phenomenon', however, if you're just after sarcoplasmic hypertrophy (bodybuilder) with no regard for how strong you are then this idea could be useful.

Admittedly, this is pretty whacky, but the results (from a number of well respected studies) speak for themselves.

I personally couldn't care less about "19" gunz" and the such, I just want to get stronger, more size is a byproduct. I am interested in training in general though and found the lecture I had on this to be pretty interesting shizzle, just sharing the wealth.

I think I've heard of this also.

There's a guy at the gym at home who is doing a Phd in strength and conditioning and it was suggested that by cutting off blood supply, GH production greatly increases IIRC.
