no longer sugdens strongest man Member 455, 1336 posts | More on Mikhail Koklyaev: Russian Strongman Involved in Tragic Car Accident by Randall J. Strossen, Ph.D. | ©2009 IronMind With the help of multiple sources, IronMind has confirmed that at least the basic story reported yesterday about Mikhail Koklyaev’s car accident is accurate, and now more details are emerging about the circumstances leading up to and following the death of a pedestrian hit by the popular Russian strongman. First, IronMind has been told that no official police report has been issued yet, and even though the accident occurred last Friday, word of it only reached the media yesterday. Mikhail (Misha) Koklyaev, we are told, is in the hospital with moderate injuries. Although there continues to be unofficial speculation about whether or not Koklyaev was drunk at the time, it has been reported that the pedestrian was crossing the street against a red light when struck by Koklyaev’s speeding car. IronMind will release more details as they become available.

I've got a brand new combine harvester Member 688, 192 posts SQ 230, BP 165, DL 300695.0 kgs @ 120kgs UnEq | yeah i would like to add to this the way things can be misinterpreted in translation, last year i got sacked from a job cos basically i was s**t at it, obv rumours circulated around and by the time it came back to my attention they where saying something totally different to what really happened. Also on the subject, whilst out getting pissed in manchester on tuesday night, i saw a guy dressed head to toe in black attire cross the road, a taxi driver drove round the corner, and in the dim light couldnt see the pedestrian and mowed him down, after i recovered him and concluded that any further claimed injuries where infact a 'put on' and the accident happened PURELY due to unforseen circumstances and poss that the taxi driver was ragging around abit, other people started gathering round and throwing about high handed accusations like the driver was pissed, not licenced etc.

no longer sugdens strongest man Member 455, 1336 posts | nicked this off sdf As usual when it comes to media, there are all kinds of bombastic-sounding Russian headlines, but here's what Russians are reporting(as of 28 Oct.): "Strongman Mikhail Koklyaev, driving his Toyota Camry at high speed, has hit a pedestrian crossing on a red signal. After the accident the driver attempted to flee the scene. The accident has happened on 22 Oct. It was reported by the local traffic police as another hit pedestrian and at first nobody paid attention to it. Only later it became known that behind the wheel of the Camry was well known strongman Mikhail Koklyaev. Around 10 PM, a traffic cop attempted to flag down Koklyaev's Toyota travelling at more than 130 km/h down the "Meridian" highway in Chelyabinsk. The driver did not stop so an unmarked traffic police cruiser gave chase. This is a regular procedure at night, this way offenders are unaware of the cruiser chasing them and can't hide. Unfortunately the the cops couldn't catch up to the Camry before the worst had already happened. At the intersection, with the green light blinking, the Toyota hit a pedestrian who had started to cross on red. The impact was so severe that there was absolutely no chance for the 51-yr old pedestiran. Koklyaev didn't stop and attempted to flee, however he did not get far - his shattered windshield forced him to stop about a 100 m. away. Koklyaev approached the arriving cops with the words: "Here, I give up." Koklyaev refused to be tested for alcohol, however all at the scene could see that he was drunk. Preliminary data leave no doubt that the pedestrian was crossing on red. Statements by police and witnesses agree on that. Investigators comment that at this time the it's too early for conclusions and no charges have been brought against Koklyaev yet. Koklyaev is being treated for injuries caused by the accident." Some articles mention that Koklyaev has had a clean driving record and is not known to be a drinker. One internet publication (mediazavod.ru) claims to have reached Koklyaev but his only statement was: "I still don't understand what happened. Talk to my lawyer." Koklyaev's lawyer (Vyacheslav Zinoviev) was quoted as saying: "I'm still going over the details and don't have all the data I need. At this point I can't be certain and don't want to guess. I haven't talked to the officials. The only thing I can confirm is that Mikhail Koklyaev has contacted me." p.s. By the way, Russian strongman scene is so friggin' fractured and fanatical about their own that, I personally, wouldn't believe anything either side says.
