I was going to make my own protein bars by putting some flavourless protein into flap jacks. Problem is i was thinking when things are cooked such as steak etc it loses some of its nutritional value. Does anyone know if the protein powder will lose any of its nutritional value once cooked?

if cooking 'denatures' proteins by breaking the molecules apart (which seems to be the argument against cooking whey), what do you think happens when we digest it? Confused

all im sayin is when ever you cook anything it cooks out some of its nutritional value. For example when you cook a steak it might start with 28g of protein raw but when cooked may only have 22g left.

I use this recipe. Equal to most commercial bars nutritionally and about 1/5th the price. Like most protein bar recipes, it doesn't require any cooking at all.

The mix will seem really dry when you put it in the fridge, if it doesn't it will be too sloppy.

Diet question for the boys on here interested in that sort of thing?

why the f**k don't you stop worrying about protein, macro nutrients, supplements and s**t like that - and worry instead about muffing your Mrs, squatting triple your bodyweight for reps, getting lashed on the weekend, talking to your Mam on the phone - in short; important stuff.
