Ive recently lost a fair bit of weight and with it a lot of my already quite modest strength levels and at this new body weight i'm finding it very difficult to gain any of that strength back. I would like to put some weight back on but without going back to being as fat as i was.
I've been reading about moacros and lean bulking and it seems as always the internet is full of contradictory information , so i'd be interested to hear from anyone who has gained weight with minimal fat gains and how they went about it , and also how much weight gain a month is realistic.
thanks in advance.

I think unless you're on the HP sauce just eat comfortably and it'll come back.

You rush it, you'll get fat.

This. However rushing it and getting fat and strong can be extremely fun!

If your natty 1kg a month is good weight gain. Doesn't sound much but nearly 2 stone of lean mass a year sounds much better. Lean bulking or "reverse dieting" is very effective and an easy way to track how your getting on. I actually gained weight using carb back loading I planned on getting lean but genuinely accidentally went from 84-89 without meaning to. Would personally recomend the reverse diet tho for sure

..No need to sweat the details with gaining weight really. Just don't eat like an idiot, eat a range of foods from all of the major nutrient sources and use the scale as your indicator of progress. So, don't live off shakes all day and don't live off pies either.

I think being somewhat conservative with fat gain is probably best, but that depends how quickly you either gain it or are able to lose it if you need to.

i was told to slowly increase cals. start with about 300 more cals a day than u have now and stick with that until your weight stops increasing then up it another 300.

also iv heard 2lb a month of lean mass gain is very good, so if your putting any more than that on you'll probably be gaining fat.

Simple and effective no doubt, but the best way to stay lean whilst gaining weight?

rather than not sounding much, 1kg per month lean sounds like a completely unrealistically large amount to me? I doubt ive gained 12kg of muscle over the whole time ive been lifting lol.
