If the numbers require it then 2 platforms makes day go much smoother.

I guess the question is how do YOU feel about doing your last deadlift at 8pm. I personally have no issue with this as my training is ususally in the evening anayway, so sort of suits me.

Its just a matter of making this as much of an Event as it is a spectator sport.

i think 2 platforms would be best, no one wants a 12 hour day, least of all spectators

agreed but I'm still not sure this requires 2 platforms.

Last year, Saturday was done and dusted (including medals) for 17:30 and from what I can gather there were more numbers then as well.....

I actually don't really care as I'm there all weekend anyway, so I'm not even sure why I'm pitching in Grin

Looking at numbers guess there will be a minimum of 4 flights and possibly 5. 5 flight rotation will be a long day.

Paul and the rest of the gang will sort it out.

As were are talking about long days Paul will there be any catering?

Good stuff - I thought Mark was going to be shipped back to Afghanistan in March, glad he will be there, a good buddy and awesome lifter!

Good luck to Mike Goodwin, who qualified in his first comp back in Jan and is ready to set some PB's.

Following consultation with Andy Davies(BDFPA Technical Officer)it has been decided ,at this stage,to use two platforms throughout the weekend.Total entry is 123 with 70 on Saturday and 53 on Sunday.
Details of the proposed lifting programme(timetable) will be posted on the MESSAGE page of the BDFPA web site soon.Group 2 will be the stronger group in each weightclass and they lift after, but in rotation ,with group one in the same weightclass.
The stronger group will be established by lifters PBs or by openers at the weigh in(to be decided).
We will benefit from everyone being positive and willing to contribute to the weekend without distracting from their own performance.
The Audience will be able to watch both platforms from the seating arranged to give good views of the action from the spectators area.
5 warm up platforms are being arranged, hidden ,but in the main auditorium.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require help or further information.
