New training journal

Aiming to be fitter, healthier and a lot leaner for the 2013 season
Still harbouring a few niggly injuries from this years training/competitions but 90% happy with my current state.

Unsure which comps to aim at this year but toying with Dave Meers midlands qualifier or the southern naturals qualifier. Sadly will probably only have enough commitment for 1 of them, next years Big Gay Bash and probably 1 other.

No major lifting goals in sight, im thinking a general all round improvement in performance/strength is needed. Although a 250kg deadlift would be nice for xmas.

Dead rows 60kg x10 reps for 10 sets

hamstring curls 5 sets of 5 (moderate weight)
good mornings 60kg x5 reps for 5 sets

calf raise 100kg 2 sets to failure

Thursday training

Strict press (from rack) 70kg x5 for 5 sets
Bench press 100kg x5, 120kg x3, 130kg x1 (very very shaky)
Dumbell ftoh 40kg x2 sets to failure (8,8 5,3)
Tricep pressdowns 2sets to failure (moderate weight)

Deadlift 150kg x5 for 5sets
1 arm rows 2 sets to failure 40kg(18,14, 14,10)

kettlebell swings 14kg x2mins x2mins x2mins all with 1min rest inbetween

huffing n puffing from the dumbell ftoh onwards, bench felt very alien as using a wider grip than i normally would

Training at Gym1 with James "Manatee" 26 Grin

log 70kg x3 x5sets
Duck walk 110kg x10m, 110kg x10m
Duck walk pick ups 150kg, 210kg, 240kg, 240kg
Stones 80kg x5 110kg xf
Bench press 60kg x5 100kg x5 x5sets

Stripping everything back and attempting to add a little weight weekly on regular events while improving technique and confidence.
Minor issue today which caused a few problems ... i had wind, which totally ruined duck walk and led to me nearly getting a strike with the 110kg stone bowling James26 over

Monday's training

Squats 85kg x10 reps for 10 sets (emphasis on technique and depth)
Dead rows 85kg x5 reps for 10 sets

hamstring curls 5 sets of 5 (moderate weight)
good mornings 60kg x5 reps for 5 sets

calf raise machine 100kg 2 sets to failure
barbell curls 20kg 2 sets to failure

plank x5 all to failure
barbell roll outs 5 sets to failure (60kg)

Just upped the weight a bit on squats/dead row but neck was a bit tight so dropped the planned reps on dead rows... calves are extremely tight as is hamstring even with warming up/cooling down.
