I say yes. Because the next thing you know he will be selling car boot-fulls of weed, climbing into aqauriums to shag dolphins in the blow hole and stealing penguins.

aye, saw this
the problem is that the deduced the amphetamines to be recreational, but they CAN be performance enhancing...so could be a bit of a grey area
I personally dont think you should be banned for recreational drug use

Alcohol is a recreational drug, should athletes be banned for drinking?
Now I know alcohol is legal that's not really my point. As long as the recreational drug doesn't enhance performance then who cares what people do in there private lives.
So no they shouldn't get banned.

I think back to Tindal getting caught drink driving and Stevens getting done for cocaine
Stevens gets banned for what 2 years, Tindal gets the captaincy
I couldn't give a s**t if Stevens is taking coke, Tindal is a scum bag (he drove to a wedding and had a commitment after, he always intended to drink drive)

Socially accepted
Whether you like it or not
Personally I agree to an extent... You can get arsholed but a touch of another poison is a no go

shud depend on the drug really, as jc some rec drugs can have positive effects on performance so they shud be banned. however rec drugs that dont have positive impact shudnt be banned, or if they are as already said alcohol wud come under this too n that shud also be disallowed.
or is it just a case of if your drugs of choice are illegal ur penalised n if ur drugs of choice are legal then ur ok, despite any of the effects be them negative or positive on performance?

Its 2012, you're aiming for Olympic success, there is only about 3 months to go to the big event and you know you are subject to drug testing... why, oh why would you take a recreational drug no matter how fast you think it will be out of your system.
Ban for stupidity.
Ban for stupidity.

doesnt mean they should be. whoever decided to make them illegal wasnt necessarily right. alot of laws are stupid n not in the best interests of the people but the people at the top.

The kids got to make weight
That's my initial thought on why it may have been used
But then again one of his British training partners could have spiked him mid session and the organisation arranged a test
Conspiracy!
