To be honest Rob i think its there now but like fatpete says 'small chunks bit at a time'...and cheers for putting pic up mate!

Now then, now then. Sit up straight and pay attention. I saw something on Monday which I had my doubts about, but I wasn't sure so I said nowt. I asked Joe the Referee tonight and he has confirmed that you are not allowed to use a thumbless grip when squatting. You must grip the bar properly. Safety of the spotters is the concern apparently

Pete did you notice it on all my sets or just the heavier ones and was it on both hands or just one, either way thanks for mentioning as we dont want failing for silly things like that

I'm fairly certain it was on them all and both hands. If you don't do it they can't complain can they ? And I'm certain that it won't make the slightest difference to you.

Alan has plans anyway, next time you squat, all will be revealed.

You have potential, Alan likes potential.

I think ive done it Pete by accident and just not noticed as i do know this rule from years ago but like you said best nip it in the bud now Happy
And whats Alan brewing up now??...Im sure ill find out soon enough Wink

big deadlifts do u do them raw or use straps mate.
Avatarb15ape1
No matey just raw then every now and again i lob the suit on.I only use straps if i do heavy partials in the rack from just under the knee...there fooking killers tho!
Avatarturbokid
i bet they are mate once i get to 160kg for high reps i struggle 4 grip ive started workin on forearms 2 days ater deads along with biceps and would a suit help my deads mate.

I was reading your journal turbo and just hadn't posted there yet, theres a couple of things i use to improve my grip...shrugs work for me the best even with straps and only after one session the next time ive d-lifted the grips always been better for me.
Regarding when you get up to 160k id knock your reps down so your could go a little heavier on your next set, that 160x8 for 3 sets is alot of graft and stress on your back but well done because that would of got me puffin like a train!!
A suit would help your d-lift but they dont give you alot, they keep your body nice and tight and stable and make the lift alot smoother thus your able to lift that little bit more!

The 8s are my 'fault' Andy. They're the early part of a tapering programme designed to get him to peak for the Lancs and Cheshire in May. I also told him that if he keeps running to other people for advice then he could get someone else to coach him, but as yet he doesn't seem to have taken that message fully on board.Angry

I've also told him to focus on the current programme and immediate objectives. Those are lifting raw at the Lancs and Cheshire, which is why we've not visited equipped options yet. He doesn't appear able to maintain that focus either! He may shortly be in the market for a new coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
