I'd assumed that's down to not having to get your core doing stabilising work. A better comparison would be seated vs seated or standing vs standing.

I suspect standing DB press, heavy, would be A Proper Tart to do.

Yea, standing db press is very hard and takes quite some weight off as opposed to seated db press.

I don't find that, but I've always done it standing. Doesn't take long to get used to it.

Wait till it gets heavier. Look at Adam - easily reps the 50s sitting down but was doing 5 with the 30s standing last I know of.

You need a jaw drop smiley!

That is ridiculous. I think doing 50s seated is phenomenal but only managing 30s standing just seems crazy. I'll have to try a set standing and see what it's like.

I can do 25's standing, albeit only a rep or two (my max MP is only 55-60). If I was Adam's size I doubt 30 would be too much of a problem. I really think as long as you get the practise in, it's not an issue.

Alex, have you actually tried doing them seated recently?

Im very sure if Adam worked at them with any regularity he'd be using way more than 30kgs a hand. If he worked them with the same focus he used to get to 50kg seated I wouldnt mind betting he'd be up around 40kg a hand pretty sharpish.

No but I will try them next time just to see if I can shift much more weight.
