Don't know if it's Russian FunkyMonky Happy A Personal Trainer puts my programme together for me; switched from 5/3/1 back to 5x5 as despite running 531 for a few cycles it didn't help my 1rms increase.Am hoping the 5x5 will help my squat and bench improve. Prefer 5x5 it helps me focus on good form and it seems easier to track progress.

Long work hours and not much sleep made me glad this was a lower volume sess!The deadlifts felt heavier than they should have. Time to incorporate more hiit stuff to get back on track with goal of lowering bodyfat.Had bf levels deasure to give me a baseline, couple of kg heavier than last time but skinfolds showed this is mostly due to imcrease in lean mass.Made up my legs are 2 cm bigger.0.8kg fat has gone on though so time to attack
hiit in earnest to get to my bf target. So I plan to do either treadmill hill sprints or a barbell complex after mist strength sessions.

Barbell complex - The Bear- did first set of reps with 15kg- bit too hard at mo and first time I've done this so dropped it to 10kg and did 5 sets. Great fun.

My bench is slowest progressing of all 3 unfortunately so 60kg by Nov is outside realms of possibility for me; 47.5 kg however would be a more realistic target

Good idea Phil, thanks would be motivating to find 1rms have gone up.Reckon will do another 4 weeks of 5x5 and then retest. Hope to see improvements in bench in particular with new approach.
