Member 2509, 123 posts SQ 335, BP 237.5, DL 380952.5 kgs @ 106.4kgs UnEq | In my experience an awful lot of deadlifters find improvement when they develop their leg strength in the initial phase of the lift, placing them much closer to the 'upright just drive the hips' form of the 18inch pull. Much has already been mentioned, I am also a big fan of high bar and front squats (not cheating forward leaning ones) performed in the style of an olympic lifter to assist in developing this drive (goes without saying power cleans will have a good carry over too). I agree with the vast majority of what Vanilla Gorilla has stated on here as well (admittedly not read the whole thread).

Interesting point mate, been considering adding in power cleans so this may well help too. Appreciate the comments mate.

⚽ Member 3634, 2381 posts SQ 227.5, BP 175, DL 250652.5 kgs @ 143kgs UnEq | I am glad that I stumbled across this thread as I am a fast off the floor, rounded back, albeit useless lifter who struggles to lockout a deadlift anywhere my top end lifts without a hitch of epic proportion! So I will borrow these helpful hints and tips and begin my journey towards being a semi-useless deadlifter
