possibly got a job working with kids for the summer holidays. I've worked in a nursery before so it should be fine. Easy enough so long as you don't try and keep up with them! I tried it once and I fell asleep on the sofa by 6pm.

I hope you're not thinking of using the "back pain" as an excuse to sack off our 500lb pull bet matey!

Seriously though, hope it's nothing too serious, and that you can get back to heavy deadlifting soon!

Upper body again! I'm not sure if I can do the comp in September now so I'm just going to have fun for a bit. Weight is about 14st 4 now and I can feel the difference in strength.

FYI RP= Rest pause

DB bench press: 42.5s x 19 RP
T-bar row: 50x6, 40x10.
Close grip bench: 85 x 12 RP
Close grip lat pull down: 85 x 15 RP
DB cleans: 5s x 35 RP - Feel the burn!

You're a tart, Keir! Unfortunately, you're a tart who benches more than me!

If you're not doing the September comp does that mean you're spectating in a dress? Not that it's much punishment for you...

Probably bar fright. Or perhaps a lack of mirrors in the main hall. Happy

You know how to cut to the core of me dear Finch.

Todays back update: I sat down in a chair, then got up. It crippled me. I now cannot sit, stand, walk, piss, sneeze, s**t or wank (I have tried all of these) without getting shooting pains that stop me dead to the left of my L5. I can only hope that come september, the events of PL have changed to the stair crawl, supine lie down, and old man shuffle. Then I will truly be a king among men!

Back update:

I took a completely useless trip to the doctors today. The condensed version was pretty much like this:

Me: Something is very wrong with my back. Yesterday from sitting only, I was completely crippled and ended up having to crawl up the stairs to bed. It is also affecting my ability to work.

Dr: Yes, but look at you walking now! Next...

Apparently they won't send you for a scan until they are completely convinced you need surgery. Surely the point of a diagnostic tool like scanning is to determine the need for surgery, not be justified by it. What a waste of time that was.

I have learnt that Doctors should be avoided at all costs unless you genuinly think you are dying and then only as a last resort!

His reply: Stop benching then. Next.

Mobility- no ab circuit today. was training lazy cricketers all day and I couldnt be arsed.

Squats: 5x10 @ 45kg. Back felt better today. No pain during any of the session.
Incline curls: 20s x 13RP
Fat bar holds: 65kg x 65 seconds
Back raise isometric with 3kg med ball: 75 seconds

I am going to keep increasing the weight on the squats by 5kg per week and see what happens. So far it is going well. Fingers crossed I may be able to put in a showing in Sept. Time shall tell.

You working yet?
Work equals money.
Money pays for wheels.
Wheels means you can get over to the Farm.
Visiting the Farm means you can train with big boys.
