Out of interest, do you do any events training? I've not spotted any mentioned in your journal but thought you might be keeping it under wraps! Wink

If you're hoping to win your first strongman comp I'd suggest hammering some events. I've only done 4 events sessions but there's been a big difference in how the events feel, even with limited practice.

It would be REALLY interesting to see how you'd do in strongman without doing any events stuff though, cos you're obviously very strong. Happy

Well done with the PL comp to.

PS. You should become a quadruple threat and learn how to do the Olympic lifts to!!

Noticed you simplified your diet down. What kinda stuff are you having for your main meal at night?


atm its a shake before bed a protein blend, last solid meal could be anything as changes day 2 day but prefer to have meat or eggs.

Thanks my video editing skills are getting better , should be better each video lol. I will be doing event training twice a week on stones and log press , other events cant really practice or dont need any specialist stuff. I dont like the idea of Olympic lifting, but saying that I thought bodybuilding was stupid when I first joined a gym.

Trained deadlifts the other day, did speed ones upto 140kg then worked upto 260kg. Felt good first time going heavy since comp, 300 is def on the cards soon.

Trained hamstrings adductor's and calfs yesterday, went pretty heavy and for low reps 4-8 . The inside of my leg is killing now and was pumped really bad yesterday lol. Gona attempt a personal best on deadlifts this week.

Deadlift session was crap again , had to use a crap bar and found out floor was not level , got to 260kg again and legs started to give, gona have a rest and start training legs heavy again to try combat this. I had a really good arm session yesterday , nice and heavy.

Leg session on friday was really good, did leg press , about 10 sets of 5 and maxed out the weight on it and then had to balance a plate on top to get a little extra weight. Then I did 5 sets of leg extensions upto 80kg at high reps.
