Hey all, recently been thinking about getting in shape a little as well as getting stronger and began thinking about cardio (shudder).

Does anyone on here use one while jogging? Is there a noticeable difference with normal jogging in terms of getting fitter?

Also, what other good uses would it have if i were to get one? Weighted planks etc are an obvious bonus.

Knee health would have to be low on your list of priorities.

Also....

I don't know how much they weigh, but surely you'd rapidly outgrow one for weighted planks, if not find it too light immediately. After a few sessions of weighted planks I'm up to 75 kilos and I'm still not being challenged really.

So, my advice is - don't bother getting one!

The one i saw you could change between 10/20/30kg... So yeah your right as i don't think that would even challenge me now.

Tbh i think i was getting a bit excited about feeling like Rocky running round town

s**t for running in, more than likely will cause issues.

However, as a conditioning tool they are brilliant.

Think circuits of burpees, box jumps, step ups, leopard crawling, press up, pull ups, handstand press ups, walking lunges, bounds, depth jumps etc etc etc

Thanks, this sounds good. I remember doing step ups a while back and thinking how awkward the plate i had to carry made it.

As vanilla gorilla says, use them for conditioning circuits not a good idea for running with, i'd rather do sled drags/sprints for cardio..dont know the vest you have been looking at but my advice would be make sure the vest is a good fit and the weights are tightly secure, last thing you want when doing burpees etc is the weights moving about and the vest moving about also..

Sorry I'm a recovering Warcraft addict. Running around in Armour may trigger a relapse
