In uni now doing strength and conditioning, signing up to the weightlifting and powerlifting teams. As part of the course we're actually gonna be examined on weightlifting technique at christmas in a competition. So from now until then will be a lot of serious training! watch this space! | ||

Snatch 50x2 55x2 60x2 64x2 66x2 (made up, BW) Clean and Jerk 60x2 70x2 80x2 90x1 (fail) felt i had it in me so tried again 90x2 Ended the session with some assistance exercises. Went to the gym in the evening aswell for my w/l club program. Power cleans (singles) 60 60 70 70 80 70 Snatch (from rack)- f**ked from earlier so kept it light concentrating on technique 40x4 50x3 50x2 50x1 Front squat 70x3 80x3 90x2 100x2 100x2 Push press (again f**ked) 60 70 70 80 Overall a very good training day. Had yesterday off and today i've got squats, jerks, clean pulls, clean and jerks (from rack) and close hand snatching. Gonna throw some core in aswell. | ||

Managed to train nontheless (wed 23) Squat 70x5 90x5 100x3 100x3 100x3 Snatch pulls - loads on 40kg then some more on 50kg Ankle felt ok so tried some snatch balance on 40kg Full snatch Loads on 40kg - ankle felt fine Loads on 50kg - ankle was ok still Just worked on technique really. Didn't want to make it any worse. Happy with the session anyway. | ||

Not the best performance but i came away with a lot more confidence and some things to work onSnatch 63kg 71F 71F next time i wont jump so much, my pb was 70 so i wanted to beat that. On reflection 68-72 would have been better to build up confidence etc. C&J 90kg 96F 96 PB Really been working on my jerk and the last one was good. One of the ugliest cleans I've ever done though, which shouldn't be an issue. I've cleaned 111kg a couple of weeks ago. Failed a 100kg clean last week and fell on my ass. Ever since then I've been scared of dropping down which results in a clumsy power clean. Things to work on: Pulling back and fully extending on my snatch. Also need to lock out quicker and get under the bar faster. Clean needs to be where it was 2 weeks ago, dropping down low and coming up strong Jerk needs to keep going the way it is. Powerful and dropping quickly. Possibly some shoulder flexibility work so I can push my head forward. | ||

Didn't have much time so kept it simple. warmup with Snatch balance and hang snatch @ 40/50kg Full Snatch 40x5 50x5 55x5 60x3 63x3 60x3 Heavy pulls 70x3 73x3 73x3 (attempted full on the third rep. managed to get under it but couldnt hold it) 70x3 Cleans 70x3 80x3 90x3 100x2 80kg C&Jx1 At this point i ran out of time. Best thing about the session was that my cleaning confidence is back. The 100kg clean felt easy and (i'm told) looked pretty good. | ||

Increased volume a lot. it hurt Deadlift (been a while) 100kgx3 120x3 140x3 160x3 180x3 190x2 140x3 (speed reps) felt strong Squat 70x2 100x3 105x3 110x3 B/O Row 60x8 70x8 80x8 85x6 Split Squat 40kgx8 50kgx8 At this point i had to stop, was going to do one more get at 60 but couldnt face it. Did some core to finish. | ||

Member 1262, 347 posts SQ 180, BP 95, DL 213488.0 kgs @ 77kgs UnEq | last few workouts have gone really well,before this I was trying to make the same gains in weightlifting as i was when i first started, attempting PB's every session and generally burning myself out so decided to cut back a bit. working at about 80% of my max's squatting almost every day, did an easy 110 for 3 on back squat and front squatted 100 for 3. Been working on my cleaning a lot and that is quite comfortable again. easy 90 triples. Snatch has its days, working around 60kg. Hoping to hit over 70 soon. working on jerk technique at the moment, i need to split wider. looking forward to tonight's workout, been training pretty hard recently and yesterday was the first day off in a while. | ||

Most recently some easy 120x3 back squats 110 for 3 front squats snatched 75 last week and got 68 for 3 doubles this afternoon my clean is back up to scratch with a nice 100 double yesterday jerk still needs work but 90 doubles going strong, also repped 80 for 5 off one clean. Been concentrating a lot on heavy pulls aswell. 80/90 triples snatch grip and 150 kg clean pull triples. BUCS comp is a couple of weeks away, hoping to open with a 100kg C&J and a 73 snatch! | ||
