The gym set up at Absolute Fitness is great, got everything you need and plenty of weight. The comp was very well run, no hiccups in the slightest. Very efficient crew and quality refereeing from Darren, Loz and Eddy Ellwood. To get the call up on Tuesday and not know what to expect I was very happy with my performance. 5 reps on the log was a 2 rep PB from traing, another PB by doubling 320k pull. My yoke was my best run yet, 15m with 400k in 13s... uphill. Farmers was a no go, really need to work my runs on thicker handles cause that's two shows this year the thick grip has ruined an event for me. Highlight of the day has to be stones. I was getting cramp in my lat before the event, but felt nothing during it. 9reps of a 160k stone, not sure what I've changed but my stones ave really clicked now. Big thank you to Darren, other other refs, loading crew and everyone at Absolute Fitness who made this day possible. I have to thank my mate TJ for driving me down and leaving Glasgow at 4am after I finished work. Wouldn't have done any of this without him! | ||

You only have to look at the numbers now and the quantity of guys hitting them to see how far the standard has jumped in quite a short time.
