Jaako | Fish oil on the bottle, and benefits? | 14-03-2008 @ 10:58
Mr. Abb. Member 239, 581 posts SQ 172.5, BP 100, DL 212.5485.0 kgs @ 74.1kgs UnEq | Hi guys, just wanted to check if anyone knows of any brand/shops that sell concentrated fish oil on the bottle? At the moment I'm taking Boots Superstrength Concentrated Fish Oil which is in capsules of 1000mg with 330mg EPA and 220mg DHA. I take 5 capsules in the morning and another 5 in the evening and I think it helps me a lot. Especially with keeping calluses and acne down. Also, as I said I measure the amount I need to take by how well my calluses stay down and lack of acne as I've found that when I don't take enough fish oil the calluses build up fast as within a week, and within a week or two I start getting spots on my back and face. Anyone else noticed the same? If not, what feedback do you use in order to determine how big dosage of fish oil you need to take? Cheers!

I personally prefer the stiffest possible. Member 158, 3110 posts SQ 170, BP 107.5, DL 222.5500.0 kgs @ 67.4kgs UnEq | I have used Seven Seas Super Concentrated and it doesnt taste fishy either, its about £5 or so for about 300ml I think. Not sure on the concetrations but I do know that it was a lot higher than the normal caps or the normal cheapy oil. Paul

It's worth reading the label carefully, ive used the sevens seas cod liver oil in the past, i'm on boots own brand at the moment, both liquid.

Paul If it's fish and it doesn't taste fishy, don't you think that's a bit fishy?

All I can find Fish Oil wise with Seven Seas are in capsule form, apart from the Cod Liver Oils which seem to be available in bottle. brynevans said: One of the problems with some of the capsules is that to take enough to get the benefits of the omega 3s you can actually overdose on the vitamin A and D that are not water soluble. As far as I understand the Fish Oil doesn't contain any Vit A& , but the Cod Liver Oil does. So "over dosing" on pure Fish Oil is not a problem, but as you said with Cod Liver Oil you are better off by sticking to "the recommended dosage". So if you want to up the Omega 3's you could take the "recommended dose" of Cod Liver Oil and top up the Omega 3's with concentrated Fish Oil. This is what I take at the moment http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=105809... and this is what I'm giving my 9month old son http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=105780...

I don't see the problem with oil that doesnt taste fishy, its just been filtered, the omega oils are still there. Personally I eat a couple of tins of mackeral a week as its far more tasty
