Heavy Bench

Trained with Niall today. Good to have some equipped company.

Tight shirt on, nothing to a touch
60 for 10
100 for 5
140 for 5
180 for 3 (6 inches)
220 for 1 (6 inches)
210 for 1 (4 inches)
205 for 1 (2 inches)

Training shirt on, everything to a touch
175 for 2
175 for 2 (got a touch on the second that I probably didn't need)
175 for 2, sweet as a nut.

Finished with 5 sets of 10 with 11 plates on the dips machine. Happy with today's little session, getting lower and lower with the tight shirt. Down side is that I was so happy to get the last pair with 175 that I took my shirt off and forgot my flush set.

Looking forward to triples with 175 on Thursday with the hidden shirt Happy .

Feeling tired this evening, so had a couple of energy drinks first. Ended up tired and twitchy!

Deadlift
65 for 10
105 for 10 x 3 sets.
Finish.

Did what the programme required and not a jot more.

s**tty session today. Went to Total Fitness Aintree, wore the loose bench shirt under a fleece throughout. The plan said 3 x 3 with 175. Nothing to a touch except the 175s.

Bench
60 for 10
100 for 5
140 for 5
175 for 2 - hard, third wasn't there
175 for 2 - harder still, needed touch on the second
175 for 1 - actually quite proud of this in a perverse way because I won a real fight to get 1 rep.
140 for 8

Just not there today. pissed three pairs with 175 on Monday AFTER heavy singles. Maybe I thought it would be too easy and paid the price. In my (partial) defence, the bench was very low, the bar was unusually marked and I had trouble working out where to hold it, and I had to almost take the bar out myself. Plus the training vibe just wasn't there. The steam room and hydrotherapy pool were nice, but that ain't what I go to a gym for. Back to home turf and Monday and I'll try again.

If it's Friday it must be Back & Biceps.

Went in feeling lethargic and weak again today. Don't know if there's just too much flying about in my little brain or if I'm going down with something.

Preacher Curls - 4 plates for 10 reps x 5 sets
Low Pulley Cable Curls - 4 plates for 10 reps x 5 sets
Lat Pulldowns, normal grip - 11 plates for 10 x 3 sets
Lat Pulldowns, wide hammer grip - 12 plates for 10 x 3 sets
Rotary Lat Machine - bottom peg for 10 x 3 sets
Rowing Machine - 15 plates for 10 x 3 sets
SCSR Machine, normal grip - bottom peg for 10 x 3 sets
SCSR Machine, hammer grip - bottom peg for 10 x 3 sets
Rear Delt Machine - top stack + 3 for 15 x 3 sets
Facepulls - 7 plates for 15 x 3 sets.

Didn't go mad on any of the weights today, just wanted to get through the workout. Felt a million times better walking out than I did walking in. Happy

Always nice when that happens.

Bench

Nice little session today. Tight shirt on, nothing to a touch, and

60 for 10
100 for 5
140 for 5
180 for 3 (4 inches)
220 for 1 (6 inches)
220 for 1 (4 inches) - 4 inch PB!!!
210 for 1 (2 inches) - 2 inch PB!!

Loose shirt

175 for 2.

Finished bench there, was beginning to fatigue. I had in mind a 205 touch but it was so much of a struggle to touch 210 that that wasn't on. The 220 was sweet as a nut, so much so that my first reaction was to check the bar for a misload.

Dips Machine - 11 plates for 10 reps; 12 plates for 10 reps
Dips - 3 sets of 10.

Not done proper dips for years because of the shoulder, nice to be able to do them again.

Facepulls - 5 sets of 10 with 6, 8, 8, 8, 8.

I had problems for nearly two years, took cissus and it more or less cleared up in 6 weeks. Could be coincidence, but I think it's well worth a try Jamie. Powder tastes vile, get the capsules mate, and take 3 a day. I used myprotein .

Haha! We'll delete 'nearly' next week Niall! 227.5 to 4 inches is the plan.
