Trained at a pretty basic gym Db's only with a few cardio machines so had to improvise

Lots of triples (up to 16Kg) dumbell turkish get ups and windmills (no kettlebells), felt really good on the left shoulder, think these are keepers to be honest.

Lots of dumbell ground to overhead (22Kg was the haviest DB)

DB complexes (5 deadlift, 5 hang full clean, 5 push press, 5 squats) worked up to 22Kg DB's, good conditioning.

Some tricep extensions and 5x5 DB hammer curls 16Kg, 5 breaths rest between sets. left bicep has been a little sore.

Slow and steady 500m row 1.42.

turkish getups are just super for shoulder health ! and swinging a 24 for a tabata set is not bad atall , a 24 is a man size bell and no mistake !!

Great sessions in here. Your kettlebells and sandbag work are great training. I love doing that kind of stuff when I get the chance. Think I'm gonna get some sandbag training in when I go home today in honour of your heavy bag training. Great stuff!

kettlebell conditioning circuit

• 20seconds rest
• 16kg x 40 seconds left hand bentover row

• 20 seconds rest
• 16kg x 40 seconds double swing

Looking back on it I had a great time ha ha!! Really brutal session, there is no way I would have put myself through that as hard if I was training alone.

The first part was one of those deceptive looking circuits that looked OK on paper but found myself having to break up pretty much everything by the third round. Second part was a bit of a blur….

Plenty of back pumps was experienced and the front squats were a definite surprise.
Great sesh!

Had a really good time mate Happy

Axle power clean and 2 power jerk: built to a comfy 90Kg
Log one motion: Built to a quick 77Kg then failed 85Kg twice then dropped weight to get some volume in
Incline bench log press 72Kg: 5x5
Sandbag to shoulder: 5 quick singles

Axle and sandbags are fine. Going to do stones at the weekend.

Log is doing my fruit in, 85Kg just isn’t happening. Have been apportioning some of the blame on technique but last night I came to the realisation that I am weak as piss. I am rather slow on the uptake!

EDIT: Just get on with it

Yeah doing the comp mate, should be a good day for the spectators! some of the events are going better than others but i'll give em my best shot.

Ha ha! Love the picture by the way boar, I'm pretty much always in that position when asked do more than 5 reps of anything! Grin

Thurs 24 Feb

A. CGBP (each rep from a dead stop, bar on saw benches approx 5cm from chest) 85Kg: 3-3-3-3-3-3 (10 breaths rest between each set).
B. CGBP (same set up as before) 60Kg: 3-3-3-3-3-3 (5 breaths rest between each set)
C. Turkish get up sit up (to knealing position) 12Kg KB: 5-5-5-5-5 (Left and right)

Not benched for ages, thought dead stop would be a good idea, liked the limited rest. TGU's were very useful for shoulders.

Hopefully some kettlebell stuff and ring dips tomorrow!

Sunday 27 Feb

Log One Motion: worked up to 80Kg, 85Kg F, F, F, F. Several singles at lighter weights
Axle power clean and 3 strict presses: worked up to 60Kg 3, 3, 3, 3, 3
Log incline bench: 62Kg x 5, 77Kg x 5, 82Kg 5x5

80Kg flew up. Think I start pressing the log from too low on my torso as the log is shooting forward when I try and press it making it hard to lock out. Will try to C&J on Monday and see if its any better.

Monday 28 Feb

Deadlift from mid-shin (approx 12-13 inches): Slowly built up to a triple at 200Kg
Stones: 20-25 loads to the low platform with minimum rest, think it was the 70Kg one. Then three singles at a heavier one, not sure the weight, might have been the 93Kg.

Mid-shin is a horrible height to pull from, fairly happy with the work done.

First proper session at stones and really enjoyed it, will need to put more work in to them but technique felt OK and tacky really helps.
