I've been changing my form and trying to get used to keeping a more back friendly position. As you can see, it's not completely dialled in yet from the floor, but it's miles better than it used to be and consequently miles stronger at lockout. Still a work in progress, but these lifts were the best I've ever done, I'm confident from the speed of 310 that there's loads more there and that I should be hitting a new pb soon.

For comparison, here's the last 310 I pulled ages ago, on a bendy olympic bar with thicker plates on (more bend)

Not sure if your technique has really changed significantly or you've just gotten stronger making the 310 look easier.

Looks really solid mate, its is the sort of hybrid oly style which is probably the most efficient for powerlifting, seems to work well for you so stick at it. Big pull on the way

Tony - take a look at this

notice how I just fold over straight away as the bar leaves the ground, I'm looking down my chest is pointing straight at the floor, these are the things I've been trying to fix. My heads up, my chest is pointing upwards enough that you can read the 'Olympic' logo on it, my back doesn't round near as much and as a result, nothing stalls out on me once it gets passed the knees. I have it nailed at 15" and am working on extending it down to the floor but it's not QUITE there yet, but different enough to have made a difference to my lockout.

Thanks Matt. I agree, this in the middle style seems to be working really well for me. I've tried a more oly style with lower hips but it's just awkward and uncomfortable. I like higher hips to get it moving, so I try to find a position where my hips are as high as possible while still being able to look upwards.

Big pull soon - I hope so anyway.

If you stall at lockout then it's definitely worth a try. My upper back isn't strong enough to lock out anywhere near what I can get off the floor with an overly round back, but some people can do this. Allowing myself to finish the lift with my hips is definitely the way forwards for me, my 18" deadlift went from 340 to 380 within a week of getting this down.

I take it you mean long arms and not massive lats... they're a bit long. Long enough to make benching hard but I don't think they're 'deadlift' long. Not like Ian Shaw's or Dave Carter's!

Let's say for example that you're not joking. Any tips? I'm sure it's not perfect!

Thanks! I don't do any plyometrics, so my jumping is completely down to heavy lifting. Coach's find this impossible to believe and encourage me to not lift heavy.
