looks like a great comp in the making

will the rules on the swords be same as 2008?

The eliminator...

Why not just cap the number of entries or have some head to head events.

Surely potentially sending people home (plus friends and family) after one event isn't necessary with planning.

Loads of interest though, 23 comfirmed athletes!!!

The problem is that in previous years i have had alot of no - shows , 2 years ago about 20 put names down and 12 or so turned up , last year 13 put names down and only 6 turned up!! So will be ok if it runs to form , but i need something in place if everyone turns up. Also the sword hold will NOT be the same rules as 2008 - the time will be stopped if they drop below horizantal , i`m making the rules this year !! lol !!!

300lbs = 136kg, seems too light?

if you mean 300kg, seems too heavy for novice comp?

well if its too light , you`ll get lots of reps then. And its not a novice comp as such , its an open comp geared to those who aren`t competing at a national level yet.

Novice standard , open to anyone i think will entertain the crowd and put on a good show in what is essentially a local carnival comp.Some events have changed - the farmers are now really too light , but while on loan to a pro-strongman they were damaged ( not his fault) and won`t be repaired in time ! So I`ve made them part of a medley. Other events have been changed to save time as there are alot of entrants.

Here is the facebook page for anyone not on it :
Sheringham Carnival Strongman Competition 2010

For entries and more info email Dave on daveandbulk@hotmail.com
Local Entries at Ellies ice cream shop the high street or Ellies cafe at the beach - Sheringham.
For entries only call Martyn on 07748901228

i tested the tyre deadlift with dave a few weeks back and having trained deads for reps this weekend my best guess is it equals about 180kg in hands. However those who know me from other forums will know i have been wrong in the past Happy
Avatarbigdave350
it will be probably be heavier on the day . Richard Hudson will be testing it in the morning before the comp - if he gets more than 20 reps , i`m making it heavier!!! He isn`t competing before anyone says he isn`t a novice!!
