Call Martyn on 07748901228 or email Dave on daveandbulk@hotmail.com Competitors interested so far: Richard Bainbridge Tony Jackman Derry Jacques Chris Hill Conan Lucas Weybourne road sports ground, ( behind The Splash), Sheringham,Norfolk. Events will be finalised at the start of May , so all competitors will have 3 months to prepare. Events being considered are : hand over hand truck pull, harness truck pull, log press, tyre flip, object loading, tug of war, double sword hold, sledge drag, farmers walk, a medley of 2 or more of the above events. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes plus Local Hero trophy for best non placing local ( from North Norfolk). | ||

Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22049 posts | I did this comp in 2007. It was novice level at the time. It was a lovely little comp - one of my favourite ones that I've done. The year after it was "novice/inter" level. I didn't put my name down, because I'd decided that I wouldn't be doing any novice level comps anymore. Did this comp happen last year? If this year's comp doesn't have the word "novice" attached to it and has decent weights I'll be interested. | ||

Member 848, 13 posts SQ 310, BP 225, DL 370905.0 kgs @ 160kgs UnEq | Its a comp for the local carnival and they want a good show for the crowd , really anyone can enter who hasn`t qualified for a big comp final - like the Englands or UK`s. For instance if we do a log lift it will be 100kg, the tyre i`ll use weighs 380kg and i`ll probably do a 4x4 pull - with 2 vehicles - one way hand over hand then back with a harness.So if this will be up to the indivual if its enough of a test or too hard .It will be on grass this year .There will be prizes - at least £200 for the winner and others prizes too. | ||

Member 848, 13 posts SQ 310, BP 225, DL 370905.0 kgs @ 160kgs UnEq | Events ( pending - may be changed) Hand over Hand Pull - Pickup or 4x4 , 20m for fastest time Sword Hold - 12kg swords horizantal to the side for max time Deadlift- 380kg tyre on deadlift frame Pressing Medley- 60kg DB ,70kg Keg,80kg Thick bar,100kg Log Farmers walk / Tyre Flip - 90kg Farmers 15m , Tyre flip back Harness Pull - Pickup or 4x4 , 20m fastest time Events need to be tested at event site but will be close to the above. Still need entries . 1st prize will be at least £200 , plus trophies and money for top 3. | ||

I don`t know what the deadlift equates to but it will be tested soon , and if its too easy i`ll add more weight - if its too hard the i`ll use a car. No straps on the deadlift - unless its really hard, i think its more strongmanish to not use straps plus it adds a grip element to the event. | ||

If less then the first 3 events will be eliminators with the top 10(8+2) through to the last 3 events. *= If there are eliminator events then Richard and Mark will do them( as points will count later) but are automatically through to the reminining events by virtue of being last year winner and local hero winner.
