I did this last year as my first comp. Unfortunately had to pull out after aggravating an old back injury in first event.
Have to say though, very positive experience for a first comp. Very well run by a good crew who were clearly very experienced.
Some tips though for anyone competing this year....make sure you take with you:
Suncream
Hat (especially if you have no hair like me !!)
Shades
Plenty of water
Portable chairs for resting between events
Last year was an absolute scorcher and the heat is amplified 10 fold due to the event being at a steam fair and all the engines etc are pumping out heat as well.
Great event to take the family to though, lots of stuff for the kids. Even my mum enjoyed it !!

Absolutely Joni.
Only mention it cos after being so woefully prepared last year I ended up collapsed at the side of a white van gasping for air and desperately seeking shade.
Come to think of it a young, scantilly clad lady holding a brolly over me between events, Formula 1 style may have helped as well !!

I too have sent away my cheque for this
Joni, spoke with you briefly after the Unit 20 novice comp before we acted as human fork lifts, looking forward to competing against you
Have been trying to convince Brian to do this for a while, but he isn't having it, however possibly Nick, and or Gary may be up for it too

Awesome mate!
Try to get Nick and Gary down - brian wont come, its too far to travel and he will be "busy"
Gary beat me last time i went against him, at fitlike comp, so i am keen on some sweet revenge.

Joni, just watched the video you posted of the last time you did this comp. Looked really good, and looked as though there were hundreds of spectators, the steam show must be a big thing.
I've done one comp, at unit 20, where there were about 20 people watching, this will be a serious jump in intensity! I can't wait!

I've sent off form and entry fee. As a few have said, looks good for those of us who are 'intermediate' opens.

couple questions Bob mate.
Is the carry a frame carry or?
pull & drag, is it with the chain both ways?
