Thanks chaps. Yes it's all coming together now. Squats continue to progress gradually and hopefully I can nail at least a 225kg squat come the Brits, I would be very happy with this.

Strong stuff Colin, love it when you have to check the weights cos it felt easy! (unless you realise you have in fact mis-loaded, which is of course s**t!).

129kg x 5 on bench? I can see a PB coming there too.

Cheers Ben, you do feel gutted when the bar feels light and its because you have mis-loaded it, thankfully its not happened yet.
The bench is going ok but not sure about a pb. Everyhting seems to slow down once I get to 140kg must be a mental thing

Perhaps mate, a 665 is a possibility this year if I lift out of my skin. The last 2 years have seen me improve my total by around 30kg a time so maybe 700 is on but I doubt it. I'm sure everything will start to slow down nowAngry

BDFPA Brit Singles

Deadlift

1st 270kg - flew up
2nd 282.5kg(pb) - tough but nailed it.
3rd 285kg(pb) - same as 2nd

Went for a 4th lift at 292.5kg to break the Military/ Police/ Fire WR but narrowly failed. Blasted it off the floor and over my knees but got it stuck midway between my knees and lock out, bummer. Still didnt expect to budge it much and now know that its only a matter of time.

A lovely venue/ location and a really well organised show run by Marc Giles, well done mate
