Member 424, 532 posts SQ 190, BP 145, DL 220555.0 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq | And a bloody good idea it was Stoneman!!! I havent got round to coming down to Fareham to beg and plead to borrow some equipment, time and expertise yet, but I will be down soon -grovelling! I hope you can help me sort out the events and weights to make it even better than last year. FYI - the proposal is for an INTERMEDIATE and OPEN competition this year (last year was novice and Intermediate). We have a lot of interest from local press off the back of last year and I hope to make it a bigger show/event for the spectators (personally I would have novices too - but it would just be impractical/impossible). EVENTS will not all be the same as last year - although the truck pull and push was a great event which we may use again. Events will be posted, along with dates and the revised (and bigger and better) location and along with sponsorship forms and posters etc over the coming weeks!! Please keep an eye on here and SDF (I will post on both). From my wife and I, and the (financially struggling) CHASE hospice - Thank you already for your support which makes all our efforts worthwhile!! Matt(PINT)

Member 424, 532 posts SQ 190, BP 145, DL 220555.0 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq | Well, preparation continues for this comp. Provisionally I have Sunday 6th of June with a venue (to be confirmed) of Broadwater Park in Godalming, Surrey. Its a great location with a football/rugby pitch, a play park for the kids, a pavillion clubhouse for facilities etc - easy to get to and on a main road to attract the passing spectators!!! However, this venue and date are NOT yet confirmed as definate Anyway, There are no other comps that weekend on the sugden Competition database, so I hope that its ok!! Matt (Events to follow)

Member 424, 532 posts SQ 190, BP 145, DL 220555.0 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq | OK - this is kind of what I am thinking for events!!! I have put in some weights provisionally - but have never arranged an OPEN comp before so dont know if I am going way too heavy or way too light!! PLEASE GIVE CRITIQUE Anyway, 6 events (each sponsored by a different gym) 1) Long Haul Medley : Length of the football pitch split into four quarters, each carrying a different object - Head to head! Single Farmers Carry (Inters:100kg - Opens: 140kg), Rock/Natural Stone (Inters: 80kg - Opens 100kg), Barrel (Inters : 80kg - Opens 100kg), YOKE : (Inters : 280kg - Opens 320kg) 2) Overhead Object Press :Time 90 sec Light Natural Stone (I. 60kg – O.80kg), Heavy Natural Stone(I. 80kg – O.100kg), Log (I. 105 – O. 130), Axle (I. 120 – O.150) 3) Car Deadlift or Vehicle Push and Pull(Harness) Depends what kit we can get - ? weights 4) Crucifix Hold - Head to head in Pairs Inter: 20kg each hand. Opens :30kg each hand 5) Seated hand over hand Truck Pull 6) Atlas Stones 85kg, 105kg, 125kg, 142kg, 172kg (opens and Inters same) This is suggestion only - please let me know what you think, Cheers Matt

Also, I dont know all your names so have used the USERNAMES from on here - Please reply with your actual name - THANKS Intermediates (1)Mike "Louie" C (2)Fatter Tomorrow (3)John Strange (1) (4)Luke00 (5)Tiff P (6)Carl (7)Phil "The Saint" (8) OPENS (1)Mark Kingham (22) (2)Ryan (Ry87uk) (3)Big Jon81 (4)Siovrhyl (5)Simon Cowdrey (6)Jay Hughes (7)Matt Griff (8)Kelv (Gardner I take it?) (9)Paul Carter Also, We haven't yet talked Turkey!!! Last year everyone raised a minimum sponsorship of £50 though some raised a great deal more (thanks again). This year I would really love it if everyone could manage £100. I know that its a lot, but a tenner from ten friends for this great cause would go such a long way - On the bright side, if you get all the sponsorship from friends and families, it wont actually cost you anything (there is no entry fee)!!!!! I know its a lot to ask - but if it is too much please say so!! I know that to some, in this current economic climate, £100 is a great deal of money - you will not be ruled out if this is too much so dont worry. Sponsorship forms will follow soon!! Looking forward to some feedback. Thanks already, Matt
