People coming to help can come anytime from 9am onwards.. If anyone wants to help out when they arrive please find me (I will make myself obvious by wearing a PINT t-shirt!!!) Its on concrete and seating will be very limited so, please feel free to bring deckchairs, blankets to sit on etc if you want these!! Additional energy drinks and protien shots will be available to purchase - (but all the competitors will be getting plently of this for free anyway!!!). Still water will be provided for competitors and plenty of drinks and food will be available to buy. Dont know what the weather will be like so please check and be prepared either way....  | ||

My thanks today to Richard Gorvin, Captain Chris, and Olly "shoulders" - and my dad- (never thought I would see those four names in the same sentence) for helping me load the equipment for the comp (was glad to see that I could still lift some of the atlas stones and the yoke, even if it was empty)!!!! Also thanks to the lads for the spontaneous donations.... Hope the weather stays good - good luck to all...Lets have a great day and do something really good! | ||

Member 370, 1520 posts SQ 285, BP 185, DL 302.5772.5 kgs @ 94kgs Eq | opens - 1st Simon Cowdrey 2nd Kelvin Gardener 3rd Dave Whittington inters - 1st Ashley Smith thats all i no guys, ashley had a great comp and smashed every event!! its the best i have ever seen him compete.. kelvin gardener tore his good bicep off on the stones, i wish him a speedy recovery.. me and kelvin were close in every event. it came down to the stones and i was 1 point in the leed, i did 3 reps with 150kg and 4 with 125kg... my back was super pummped after the deadlift so i was lucky to get so many.. kelv went after me and tore his good bicep off which was gutting to see.. we were having such a great battle all day!!! | ||

Member 370, 1520 posts SQ 285, BP 185, DL 302.5772.5 kgs @ 94kgs Eq | my comp rundown went like this - pressing medley - 60kg keg, 70kg dumbell, 95kg natural stone, 110kg axle, 120kg log. i pressed all items in the fastest time and won this event! the natural stone was horrible. 18 inch deadlift 280kg - 8 reps and joint 2nd with big dave. p.b for me on this. i had to go after dave and he pucked on the bar before me. lol H.G.V. arm over arm 20 meters then push 20 meters back. came first on this and nearly lost my breakfast at the end. 180kg duck and 5 flips of 400kg tire.. banker event for me,, i smashed the duck and and i needed 2 flips of the tire for first place. i went in to the tire and all the inters and opens tacky was all over it.. slippery as f**k and nearly broke my leg.. no flip of tire- pissed me right off... stones over yoke. 125kg for 2 points or 150kg for 4 points i was before kelv so i had to do as many as possible.. managed 3 with 150kg and 4 with 125kg overal very happy with my performance today. great battle with kelv and a good warm up for the englands | ||
