All I will say on the matter is this! Me and all the guys at the cell will be running the UK's under 105's Whatever Lawrence does is up to him! We will have it in Whitstable again as it is easier for us to get funding in the area we train in and also have contacts in! Hopefully in the future if it gets big enough we will be able to put guys up in hotels but at the moment there just isn't the money there! Same reason Glenn always runs the UK's in Belfast! sponsorship is not easy to come by so we have to do our best! We are putting up good prize money again for top 3 and also money for each event win as last year so hopefully a good few guys will get a few quid to cover expenses.

I know the travel is a pain but it's just the way it is right now! If someone else feels they can get the £4000 together to run it then contact me and we can talk about it! This is supposed to be a national contest and it should be treated as a big thing, with prize money, good crowd and good venue! I personally didn't agree with the under 105 BSM being run along side other comps as I feel it should be given more credit than that! That is what we are trying to do.

As I said hopefully we can keep it growing and eventually we can put up guys, have expenses for everyone etc etc but until then we just have to keep working together

i suggest interested partys have a meet after the winter giants comp

How come everybody is so interested in the UK's and not that bothered about BSM. Who has Loz's number ring him

Still f**king confused. Can someone please answer these questions without dancing round them or posting some un related bulls**t?

1)Is the Englands a qualifier for BSM?

2)Is the Englands also a qualifier for the UKs?

or

3)do they each have their own seperate qualifiers?
Avatarterryhollands
As far as I understand it Craig is running the under 105 Englands which will qualify you for UK's. Whether it qualifies for BSM too I have no idea

IMO i think it shouldnt more comps= more exposure
more exposure = more monkey in the sport
and that means easyer life for promoters and competitors.
as was said a page or 2 ago BSM and UK's are 2differant style's of comp in the opens why shouldnt they be in the 105's?
you cant please everybody all of the time and in this case the northen lads have dipped out. it wouldnt stop me if the Englands ,UK's or BSM was up north if i happen to qualify.as craig has said Englands will be up north in 2011 so step are in place that the northern guys dont dip out every year. in most sports you have to travel at national level or even grass roughts for that matter take rugby for exmple 3hours on the road play 80mins pie and a pint and back home every other week is the norm for the clubs iv played for in this sport week dont compete any where near as often.

Solid for Terry to be bringing more exposure to the sport but, as there always is one.

It appears to me that the UKs have bowled in, hijacked BSMs qualifying route and pushed BSM to the side.

IMO we should be solidifying the events we already have.

Its like trying to build an extension to a house that is built on shaky foundations.

Logically you should fix the foundations first.

I know what you are saying but there are qualifiers run for both in the opens and some guys do both and some choose which they wanna do. We are just trying to do our best for the sport in the way we see best! We aren't treading on anyones toes and if the guys doing BSM need help with anything then me and the guys will be the first their to help. I already offered our services to Lawrence with helping him run the under 105 BSM next year!

TBF to Terry/Paul UKs was a great spectated comp last year, and good comp overall

I am going to put on the British Isles Strongest Man

It is in my back garden so all evnst will be static

There will however be brews and bacon butties between events

Winner receieves some Thomas the Tank engine cakes baked pre comp by my lads
