Member 1365, 3 posts | Post Edited: 12.05.2010 @ 18:34 PM by romeu Amazing!! I have training on 5 different gyms… in one of them there was a few eleiko bumpers green ones ! Competition plates? Training plates? complete ignorance!!actualy I saw this somewere on the net: "...Plus, the Eleiko training set is NOT constructed the same as their competition set. ..." so means that these olympic training plates (http://www.jordanfreeweights.com/store/category/ej6e/Olympic_T... you’re talking about are not competition calibrated plates?

The plates seem solid and preety good IMO. I am sure i remember Andy or someone saying that they got them from pullum, but i am not 100% sure... and i personally wouldnt as they seem massively overpriced on there! The other gym i train at has had loads of eleiko competition bumpers (the coloured rubber ones) for years apparently, used by powerlifters and olympic lifters regularly and the only problem seems to be the central metal hub working itsself loose, i am sure they would last decades if you made sure it was tightened properly once every few months (they just tighten on with a few bolts - nothing special) I am sure storage conditions would play a big role in the durability too, if they where being kept in a damp garage with varying temperature the rubber would be more prone to splitting...

I think that YORK advertise on here somewhere.
