Unless you have someone who can monitor your sleep, you have to rely on the other symptoms. Bad sleep, tiredness during the day, waking up sweaty, waking up out of breath/coughing and so on. I dont know them all, just listed what i got My mate who is a doctor was sleeping in a same room when we were in scotland and in the morning he said "what are you going to do for your sleep apnea" Solid enough of a diagnosis in my case!

I always knew I'd had a problem of sorts, with all of the symptoms you mention and more. But the constantly blocked throat, and waking up gasping, well, I knew I had to see about it. I had read up about the possibility of it being sleep apnea, but said nothing to my GP, he said what it was for deffinate. One thing bothers me now - how the f**k do you sleep with all the wires and s**t attached to you?

never too old Member 637, 760 posts | well, if your Doc mate said it id probably take his word for it too. My cousins got it, hes a big fat mother though. He now has to wear one of those respirators at night. The things pumps air into him when it senses hes stopped breathing. Which is handy. He's been told weight loss and increasing CV fitness is the way forward.
