I've always used a mixed grip but apparently I shouldn't be...

I've never had any issues with injuries but my left side feels slightly bigger than my right which is apparently caused by mixed grip.

What grip are you guys using?

Nothing wrong with mixed grip, i guess imbalances are possible though but cant see it being noticeable, I pull overhand in warm ups then put straps on, most strongmen on here will but if youre powerlifting and concerned about mixed grip then try hook grip

I think it caused a (visual) imbalance in my back. I also warm up doh, then switch to mixed. However, since I ruptured my bicep tendon my mixed grip is the other way, so I'm hoping this may even out any imbalance at the same time as being safer on dodgy bicep.

If you are concerned about the imbalance then work on alternating your mixed grip between sets. It takes a bit of getting used to, and you'll likely always favour one side over the other, but it will minimize the imbalance. Alternatively, learn hook grip and pull like a boss.

I've never tried hook grip but might try it on Tuesday.

yep.

left trap bigger than right
left delt bigger than right ???
left upper back thicker than right
left side of neck tighter (so head tilts left)
left tricep bigger than right

right glute stringer than left
right SI joint in place, left not
right hamstring stronger than left
right eyelid more aesthetic than left
right bicep bigger than left

since starting deadlifting again iv only been up to 170kg but its all been hook grip. I will continue this for as long as I can. Hopefully this will be forever but I somehow doubt it.

oh yeah I also cant even fully supernate my right hand comfortably anymore. loal

Bumpity bump..

As I start to slowly reveal new aesthetic properties I now have a very noticeable imbalance. My right side trapezius is far bigger through the middle section, so much so a degree of separation between it and the upper fibres is visible which is simply non existent on the left.

Now I'm doing crossfit level repetitions I am using DOH straps and training my grip independently. Is the imbalance likely to rectify itself over time?

^^ if its a noticeable difference it is more likely to get worse over time as your stronger side will inevitably take more of the strain when you begin to tire.

I have the same problem. not due to being aesthetic. just down to massive imbalances.
