There's pages for people like Jack Macintosh, I know he reached WSM but he probably isn't too well known outside of places like Sugden. Yet no page for Malanichev who holds to all time record in his chosen sport. This isn't meant to be disrespectful to Jack Macintosh at all, I just happen to remember finding myself on his page once and I think it's fair to say he hasn't accomplished as much in his sport as Malan has in his.
It's the same for a lot of the big PL, it's difficult to find info on them. Maybe it's all to do with exposure and TV coverage.

Its a case of getting onto the (En) Wikipedia because of WSM's fame, whereas Malanichev is not as known in the West/English media. He does appear on this page and probably others http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_world_championships_medal...

If Rob created a page on Wiki then it would be deleted under self-promotion rules. If Sugden appears in daily papers/business websites etc (to give a sporting example such as myprotein http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myprotein) then it would be easy for Sugden's legs to stand on wikipedia.

Look at the myprotein founder's page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Cookson there is a note about a conflict of interest A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject.

Correct! We added one several years ago but it was removed.

My experience is that you often need to be able to reference some external media articles to be deemed worthy of a listing on Wikipedia. With one of our clients we added a page unsuccessfully, but then tried again and added a link about his appearance at a Treasury Select Committee which the Wikipedia editors were happy with.
