As agreed by someone else, who I won't mention - that a good sounding title is great for present and future sponsorship of both athletes and the event itself. It looks like Wales Most Powerful Man is here to stay in South Wales so it looks like you'll have to get over yourself and be supportive for a change. I'm trying to get the atheleats paid, the events more tv time and media coverage more Clear. I'm not interested in arguing about titles etc, I'm over that. But there were two important comps in Wales this year that very nearly didn't happen, I stepped up to the mark and ran organised both the first ever giants live Wales, givin our boys our first clear and legitimate route to worlds strongest man. And Wales strongest man, which if I do say so my self, was a fantastic showing for the sport. (You can be the judge when it's on tv) I don't expect people to agree with my every (or indeed any) words, but I would hope through my actions this year people can see that what I want is the best for the atheleats. I'm sure any of the guys competing at giants live or WSM will attest to that. I did have Britains strongest man under 105 to run, but due to personal issues I don't have the time or money to do so, as a result of this, the first person I rang to offer the comp too was indeed Mark Stead. As Its in all our interests that it stays in Wales. If I had an agender then the last person I would give such an important comp too would be these guys, but I saw what they were doing and felt that could do a good job. If anyone has any issue with this, feel free to call me 07717500662. The amount of time you have been aware of me with in the sport is irrelevant Martin, unless told otherwise, I feel I have worked damn hard. | ||

Member 583, 86 posts | well done to all the boys who competed,especially ant one of my training buddies and everyone who made the comp go ahead. i called in for a look to show my support but i had to take my daughter ice skating (i might go for dancing on ice lol)so i couldnt stay long,the venue and set up looked good and the new gym thats opening soon looks good too. i think we should all just get along and have a big group hug | ||

 Chris 'The Magician' Melling Member 1443, 978 posts SQ 270, BP 180, DL 320770.0 kgs @ 135kgs UnEq | Might be an idea to run it later next year , maybe even around uks time in august , would give people the chance to do all 3 comps with plenty of time in between so should see greater numbers competing , cant really see the boys who qualify for the uks wanting to compete before going to Belfast so shouldnt be an issue for them. For my part if I hadnt crocked my knee I was seriously considering entering but if im honest im still wiped out from the Welsh prep , hats off to Kelvin and Jamie for doing it but im sure they could have done with an extra few weeks to recover and get stuck in to training the events too , whatever happens it can only be a good thing for open strongman in Wales having 3 events so hopefully all the organizers can come to a agreement thats beneficial to all and keeps the sport moving forward | ||

We all know Wales Strongest Man is the top show.mark put this on so there are more comps for boys to do.simple. Rick no is doubting the work and effort you put in,its appreciated,especially by the lads who competed...personally IMHO we were all left in the s**t after last yr but you stepped up,and hopfully you will stick around because its about the comps being consistant,not worrying who's running them... Il defo be running the weight cats and womens again.my aim is to improve on this yrs obviously...i got alot of support from the the others down here and si Johnston who traveled down on the day of the u90s.thats how it should be!! | ||

Just to add to Tyron's comments - it's very good of you Rick to stand up and be counted and support the comps, but by running the comps does not give you the right to critise others in a negative way for what they are trying to do, lets be honest the name is irrelevant and surely more comps are a good thing, so by Rick saying that there would of been more competitors if the name was different is crap. Also Rick I hope you are over the name as this means we won't hear a peep out of you now that you have nothing to say. Promotors will come and go but you tend to find the athletes stay a bit longer and will see through a few promotors in their time. Running comps is not easy or cheap, who ever runs one will find that its a love affair rather than a money making venture and that you will always get criticised. I hope the people who moan and bicker f**k off as they are not needed. If I decide to come back next year it will depend on how the structure is and who is running want and how well they are doing because believe me it a big thing to come back in to the sport and I will only do it if it feels right. | ||

My first comp,your self and phill Evans don nothing but encourage me,and help and it was the same my first time down the ware house.lewis,Simon Ross all showing me what to do etc etc..thats how I think it should be.each comp in their own right is equally as important in their own right,for those competing in it...wales strongest man is the big one but to me the u90s is!! and so on... forgive and forget,move on and support each other:-) | ||
